Congratulations to those that have gotten their visa and good luck to those that are going for their interviews Please I went for my interview in October and I am still waiting for a decision. But now my DHL return envelope has expired as it it more than 3 months I purchased it, and the embassy will not be able to return my passport to me., and secondly my 15 months health insurance coverage is now remaining 11 months, though I have updated the start date to January 2026. Please what should I do? should I contact the embassy? please is there anyone with similar situation, your advice will be very helpful. |

Adelawal2011:I think you should message call dhl customer care, cos your envelope is still at the embassy which is still valid, and the only thing is you can’t track it any longer but they should be able to help you out from there I guess. |

I joined the waiting list 1st of July, uploaded my documents during preliminary review and was told to make some corrections which has been completed. Did you make any Corrections during your preliminary review and what date in June did you join? Footyhits: |

Hi guys. I need some help. I also applied for the opportunity card. I used an employment contract of 20hours to prove my financial standing. First I used 12 eur per hour gross. They said it did not meet 1091 eur per month net Updated to 14eur gross, same thing, now I updated to 17eur gross per hour on a 20 hour per week. Germany embassy said it still didn't meet 1,091 net income monthly. Please, how is this calculated? Regardless of tax, 17 eur per hour gross looks good to me. Sadly, I have just hours left before my application is deleted. |

Adelawal2011:Hi, I share the same ordeal as you. Same October and my DHL tracking wasn't coming up since last week. I was really worried, I had to call DHL and they said they can't find any info using my tracking number. I still called back and a guy picked and told me that when the shipper (German Consulate) has made decisions, it will come up again. This morning, I made a prayer that God should take the wheel, by exactly 1:30pm, a mail came through from the Consular Service, I checked my portal and realised that decision has been made. After 4 hours, I got a message from DHL that my parcel is on the way. And the tracking number came back alive. Just hang on, pray and believe God. Don't panic. |

Good morning everyone, I joined waiting list last year October 29 almost 3 months now and hopefully I will be ask to submit my application in next 3 to 4 months. My question now: 1.is German language necessary for Visa? 2. Does the language increase the chances of getting Visa? 3. Do they ask for it at interview stage? Although I started learning A1 on my own which is not enough so I planned to register with language school for A1 to A2 but my busy schedules make it a bit challenging but I don't mimd dropping some of my activities if all the above Questions are Yes. Thanks in advance for time, advice and response. |

I was asked at the interview if I had learnt any German and I said no, until I get visa. Wasn't an issue, got the visa. It'll only be a problem if German is a requirement for jobs in your field Aderonke2025car: |

My personal observation is that, the most important interview is the preliminary review. If you can get through that process, your 90% obtaining your visa, the remaining 10% is your biometrics, the verification of your documents, and the test. I just don't know why they have not yet reached the August Applicants for the preliminary stage |

Singlefile:I joined the waiting list first week of August as well… sometime in December my waiting time changed from 2-6months to 2-8weeks, then all of a sudden in January it went back to 2-6months… please did that also happen to you? |

n3utron:I think if you’re using a job offer, you’d still need about 3,500 euros as POF |

Aderonke2025car:1. No. It's not necessary 2. I can't say but I don't think it affects your chances of getting the visa 3. Someone mentioned on this thread that he was asked, he answered "NO. Until he gets his visa. Then, he can start learning" and his visa was granted. |
