Mujtahida:
The case presents FIFA with a dilemma to either maintain the status quo or revise the current position and open the door for a re-interpretation of its eligibility rules.
if that case isn’t tangible enough fifa would hv thrown it off since

And the good thing is the NFF got the timing of filling the petition right which is working in their favor currently

Heard the verdict will be heard before the end of Feb and with the look of things DR Congo will be kicked out

Even the NFF took notice of the lapses but kept quiet before the game was played

Baba, it is true.

I was on Oma Akatugba TikTok live session after the squad release and I asked this question, and Oma confirmed it, and even justified Maduka decision saying based on club and form, Maduka should be #1 and shouldn't be chopping bench for a goalkeeper in the South African league.
💯

All these Awoniyi talks because he scored today...his first goal in months.

He has had his chances with the eagles, and we have seen what he can offer. Dude can't be relied on, but congrats to him for scoring today.
Same thing was said of onauchu!

Is this deliberate? As in misunderstanding or obsfucating the issue? Omo. Wetin dey happen.

The issue is that by Congolese laws if you are a dual citizen, you are not regarded as a citizen of Congo. That's the crux of the matter.

You make it seem as if Congo gave people with Congolese parentage citizenship and Nigeria is protesting against that. Nooo.

Congo made the law on dual citizenship. We are judging them by their own law.
According to FIFA rules do the said players qualify to represent DR Congo?

There gotta be something about Michael Carrick. His time at Middlesborough reveals his coaching ability.

Beating Man City and Arsenal in back to back games is no small feat.
I think the players sacked Amorun shocked

Are the players qualified to represent Congo considering the country's constitution on dual citizenship?
Are you saying fifa should ignore Congo's constitution or national laws if there are concerns?
Maybe Congo's sport ministry or whoever in charge of sport used backdoor to get those players Congolese passports.

Football is hard. I know. But if we are honest some players don't just have the luck to be SE player. See this Awoniyi, I don't think he has luck. Anytime he plays, he feels out of place one kind. I don't know if I'm wrong but that is the sense I get.

Another player that luck is pushing him time after time into the team is Dessers yet something else is working to push him out.

..Is it the Congolese FA that issues passport or the Congolese Immigration, it's like saying NFF issues passports.

Guinea has Guirassy playing for them despite the country not allowing dual citizenship, same with many nations like Suriname and China that have foreign born players in their side.

A country has a right to issue passports to anyone they deem fit, but for FIFA they have to ensure they meet at least 1/3 requirement stipulated on their rule of which all those players have a Congolese parent

My last point to clarify , if Ludacris and Samuel L Jackson who both have Gabonese passports were footballers, they wouldn't qualify to represent the national team according to FIFA rules despite being citizens of the country

I don't know if you're trying to create your own happiness while looking down on Nigeria's petition before fifa.

See countries that strictly prohibit dual citizenship do not and will not issue a passport to someone holding another nationality unless that person first formally renounces their foreign citizenship including Congo . These countries enforce single citizenship to ensure sole allegiance.

I thought I would see congo constitution from you on dual citizenship. Children born abroad to Congolese parents can retain dual citizenship until their 21st birth which they have 12 months to renounce foreign citizenship.

The legal position is clear on this, Congo constitution does not allow dual citizenship for adults. Citizenship is technically lost if a person acquires another nationality.

Go to DRC Congo during elections and you will know that they don't joke with dual citizenship. I can't remember the particular court case before their last presidential election. No special treatment.

Allow FIFA deicide na.

Both players had dual nationality, but Tunisia alleged Cameroon's failure to follow FIFA regulations compliance. That is Joel Matip and Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting had not correctly completed their switch of allegiance from Germany. FIFA rejected the appeal, stating no breach of regulations occurred because both players were cleared for Cameroon, and both had previously played in the 2010 World Cup

Nigeria's petition is somehow different from Tunisia's petition. Nigeria own is on violation of Congolese domestic law on dual citizenship. That is conflict between national laws and FIFA regulations.

In fact, Tunisia argued that FIFA rules were broken, while Nigeria is arguing that domestic law was broken, making the FIFA clearance fraudulent.

Make I just wait for FIFA. I'm out.
