Lucifyre:okay let's address what you said. The Amalekites were not an innocent tribe suddenly targeted, you lot always present scripture without context and background. Biblical background on the Amalekites: They were the first nation to attack Israel after the Exodus, targeting the weak, elderly, and children at the back of the camp (Exodus 17:8–16; Deuteronomy 25:17–19). This was an unprovoked, cowardly assault on a vulnerable people.( This is what bandits ,kidnappers in our society do and some do it in the name of religion of peace ) God declares that Amalek had set itself in perpetual opposition to His redemptive plan. God did not command their destruction immediately in his love He have them time to repent. God always gives time for man to repent but man most times relaxes and grows in iniquity. The command in 1 Samuel 15 came about 400 years later. During this time, the Amalekites continued violent raids, idolatry, and child sacrifice, typical of Canaanite cultures (Judges 3; 6; 1 Samuel 14). This shows God is patient, not rash ( Genesis 15:16). The Amalekites were seen as Persistently violent, Spiritually corrupt having created a culture which they refused to change unlike the people of Nineveh whom Repented from their atrocities. In ancient warfare, allowing such a group to survive often meant Continued cycles of violence, Cultural and moral destruction of weaker peoples. The Bible doesn’t show God enjoying destruction; it shows Him sparing Nineveh when they repented and judging Amalek only after centuries of refusal. Selah |

Lucifyre:lol Let's start with Deuteronomy 13:6–10 If a close family member tempts you to worship another god... “You must put them to death… Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people.” My Response This Was Not Private Belief ,It Was Treason You assume this is about personal religious choice. It is not. Ancient Israel was A theocratic nation -state .God was not just a deity but the constitutional King .Idolatry was equivalent to high treason, not private spirituality This is closer to betrayal of the state than to “choosing a different religion. This act Targeted Active Corruption, Not Mere Doubt. The law does not punish: 1)Questioning 2)Struggling faith 3)Silent disbelief Which a certain religion of peace tries as much as possible to punish. It punishes Deliberate, secret recruitment Attempting to destroy national covenant loyalty, Leading others into practices involving child sacrifice and ritual abuse common in idol cults This is about corrupting society, not thought crime. Why was it So Severe? Because of What Idolatry Meant Then Ancient Near Eastern idol worship was not benign. It included: 1)Child sacrifice (Molech) 2)Sexual exploitation in temples 3) Extreme violence 4) injustice Allowing it would Destroy Israel morally Erase the line through which redemption (Messiah) would come. Severity reflects the stakes, not divine cruelty. “Your Hand Must Be the First” from the passage : Discouraged false accusations and Forced the accuser to bear moral responsibility It also Prevented mob justice(ABA people need this lol) You couldn’t hide behind the crowd. You had to mean it. Ironically, this made executions rarer, not easier. In summary ,This Was Civil Law for Ancient Israel Not Universal Moral Law for the world As Christians it does not apply today , to the church and individuals Why? Because Israel was a unique covenant nation And The church is not a state Jesus explicitly forbids violence for faith enforcement “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36) If this text justified religious violence, Jesus and the early church would have practiced it. They didn’t they died instead. So My friend Rest or should I continue ? Apologies for the typos I am not used to typing epistles on NL |

Chibuezem:Man I would never not find this funny when it happens. So you went from deriding and turning up your nose at others for something you claim your god never did - and that their gods did - to writing epistles, special pleading why we should excuse your god for doing the exact same thing with mental gymnastics. The hypocrisy is a bit loud and honestly hilarious. |
