Incompetent; I agree with you.
NO no to coup; I agree with you.
But you see that "taking us back several decades" I disagree oo.
Several decades back,
Fuel was N65, kerosene was N50, N5 had big value, bottled soft drinks were sold for between N25 to N50, a bag of rice, a cup of garri, a cup of beans was way cheaper. And these can't compared to now.

This is one of the reason why if I hear APC data boys gaslight igbos I wonder if they are normal undecided Northern coup yet they have been silent. Fulani minister went on national tv and said tinubu(c-in-c) does not have the power to chose Northern Christian as his vice (even though foreign pressure to do the right thing)invariably threatening a sitting president.

If the officers are found coupable in the attempted coup plot , they should be exec****d ASAP to serve as a bitter lessons to other undesirables in the military...

Adewale Ademoyega

Ganiyu Adeleke

Fola Oyewole

Were some of the Yoruba officers that planned and executed the Jan 15 coup 1966.

Ofcourse you will argue to deceive yourself as usual, as you always do when the truth is slammed on your face .

Whao! A sensitive national issue as a coup plot yet the senseless agbadorian miscreants defenders of the Tinubu govt are not on the thread? However, they can be spinning the January 1966 coup plot narrative? So much unbridled hatred and ethno-religo-regional sentiments in the nation

They have to be silent, they cant antagonise their almighty big brother, the North

Had the names been Igbo, the Internet would have been on fire for weeks.

If they were Igbos, they would be arrested and made to face trial just as is happening now.

That Igbo name would be worth more than the Yoruba officer from Osun and all other northern officers on the list., as it will help their anti-Igbo propaganda as we approach 2027 elections.. grin

We saw how they twisted the propaganda in the Jan 15 coup in 1966 and tagged it an 'Igbo coup'. Carefully removing the names of the Yoruba and Northern officers who actively participated in that coup.

At the end, one of the Yoruba officers Maj. Adewale Ademoyega honourably wrote a book 'Why we struck' to dispel the rumour that it was an 'Igbo coup'. Vindicating the Igbos.

A book that many propagandist Yoruba writers hate to reference till today..

Posterity is a great judge.. grin

Sorry but Yoruba people don't really have time. Some Ethnic groups have Developed paranoia that everyone is after them. This Paranoia stems from always playing the victim. If two Northerners fight in Far away Kano they will say " that is why we must break up and form Biafra ", if a Northerner marries 5 wives they will say " that is why we must break up and form Biafra ". Yoruba don't really have time. As long as it does not happen in their zone.... Carry on with what you are doing.

We have at least ten non-Igbo officers who were part of the January 1966 coup abi na attempted coup.
Men like Jallo and Atom Kpera later became military adminstrators in this same Nigeria.
No one criticized them because of 1966 because they were non Igbos.

What truth is slammed in your face that you are still arguing blindly about? What does it say about you (and your ilk) that after 60 years, you are still arguing about an open and closed case. This is why no one listen to you guys , anymore. You have been cloned by your past leaders on a deadly cocktail of lies, propaganda and gas lighting.

You obviously haven't read Ademoyega's book else you won't come online to expose your ignorance. Ademoyaga's book did not exonerate the igbos. If you had truly read the book, you would have been aware of the fact, he mentioned the meeting that took place at Ifeajuun's place on the 14th of January, 1966 and that not more than 2 people (present) had fore-knowledge of the coup plot.

Fola Oyewole that you falsely claimed was a member of the coup plot wrote a book, "The reluctant rebel", where he said that until 11:30pm , 14th Jan. 1966 he had no knowledge of a coup plot before he was asked to come to ifeajuuna's flat. Ditto Ganiyu Adeleke, who on been told of the coup plot asked to be excused as he will like to consult with his family first. Ifeajunna then asked someone to follow him saying, "he may be the first casualty of the coup". They both (Fola and Ganiyu) were friends as they both worked in Apapa, before the crisis.

In short, most of those attendees at Ifeajunna's house that night had no fore-knowledge of the coup. There was even a guy, (name escapes me now) who was tasked with the job of destroying the telephone lines and didn't even know he was participating in a coup, not until he got back to his base and was picked did it dawned on him that he had actually albeit, unknowingly, participated in a coup.

Omo, your "clean" list is unfortunately DIRTY and as such , should be thrown in to the rubbish bin .
Sheer gaslighting, it is.

The Jan. 15th coup was an igbo coup , not because of the number of igbo officers involved but for two things:

1. the victims and

2. the beneficiaries.

It's interesting to note that NCNC - a junior partner in the coalition govt. of the day were already having a meeting and wanted Ozumba Mbadiwe to be the acting Pm which of course was not acceptable to the NPC -senior member in the govt., who wanted dipcherima as their PM. Orizu refused to abide by their wishes (NPC's) but went into another room to consult with Ironsi for 40minutes!

It's infuriating and perplexing to be having this kind of discourse, 6 decades after the FACT
