So, anybody with common sense would ask why Sowore/Sahara Reporters would link FG to this?. This is purely a mischief from Sowore. If you want to gain followers, all you need to do is attack the Government. And this is how low these wack journalists have fallen.

We all know the FG has nothing to do with the incompetence of Airpeace. We have witnessed Airpeace displayed inefficiency a number of times either through mechanical, technical, or Administrative shortcomings.

The FG led by the President had done the honourable thing by securing international flight route to Airpeace. The President used his good office to help expand Airpeace's operations. Therefore, the failure or otherwise of Airpeace to commence operations is left to the company. And it's no fault of the Government. The company does not belong to the Government, it belongs to Allen Oyenma.

Mr President has on several times secured operational licences for indigenous companies abroad. Last year, the President secured operational licences for Zenith and UBA banks in France. The CEOs of both banks were with Mr President in France. And as we speak, both banks have commenced full operations in France. If they had failed to commence operations, who would you blame?, would you blame the FG?.

This was same Airpeace having similar issues with Nigerians onboard Jamaica flight but mid-air they were dumped elsewhere. This has been a consistent habit of Airpeace overtime and there have been so many complaints both home and abroad.

I expected someone who is as close to the minister of aviation and through the connection been able to enjoy quite some benefits, would build upon such an advantage. But unfortunately, Allen Oyenma is frittering away the goodwill.

So, next time in your unprofessional headlines, try dey separate FG from Airpeace.

If the Federal govt wakes up tomorrow and takes this route away from Air Peace and gives it to another person to run, these same people will wail that it's because Oyenma is Igbo.

The govt never said they would run the route; all they did was work towards getting approval and then handed it to Air Peace. The govt cannot force Air Peace to run the route.

I'm sure that Air Peace will also love to run it as soon as possible, but running an international route is not easy. You need one or two planes, you need staff, you need catering services in both countries, you need lots of stuff to get it going.
Maybe it's not as profitable as Oyenma first thought, maybe he doesn't want to run it anymore, but blaming the govt for securing the route and handing it to Oyenma is ludicrous.

Abeg, which one is tarnish image? Was the flight promised or not?
Abeg air peace should go to hell for all I care. How can our local airline flying direct flight be more expensive than foreign airlines? How can it cost more expensive than better known airlines such as air France, ethiopian, Kenya, Swiss Air, Qatar, emirates etc despite having older aircrafts and poor service? Was it not the same air peace that jacked up prices for Eastern routes during the last festive period? Air peace that you will book local flights and out of 10 bookings 9 will be delayed. I know how many times I have had to plead with hotels to give checking out time extension due to air peace flight delays, I kukuma switched to using United Nigeria Airlines as they offer better local service.

In all honesty, though Air Peace has set milestones, but there are still many things left hanging. Their administrative structure leaves little to desire. The crew could answer the questions as to our flights. I wanted to call them out in September, 2025 after travelling from a supposed flight connecting flight from Port Harcourt to Gatwick, London. My first shocker after going to the International wing was to be sent to the domestic wing of the Airport. I just told myself it is because they do not have neough passengers yet from Port Harcourt which I understood. What I could not understand and irked me was when arrived at the Domestic wing, we had to personally bring down our luggage, paid for trolley to take them to the bus provided by Air Peace.
When wegot to the International Wing we had to bring down our stuff again to go through checks. Coming from UK was worse because the layover was almost 12 hours, we sat on the chair with our luggage at the International Airport from 6pm we arrived till around 5am when they called us to bring our things to the bus. Of course, we were checked again and told one of our suitcases was overweight.
I was traumatised by that experience. We could have gone to a hotel to sleep but where would we keep our 6 suitcases. The only reason I would consider taking them again is if I am travelling from Lagos because their services aboard the flight was fantastic.

That route is notorious for drug trafficking. Therefore, a lot still needs to be ironed out.
