It's not too much. That's the age gap for most couples in this part of the world. In fact, our fathers were 20-30years older than their wives yet they had great marriages. Marriage is better when the man is way older because at that age, the men have seen it all and are wiser than their younger selves, so they're ready to make their marriages work.

Having a funeral policy, is, I'd think, very different to having a policy that ones marriage might fail, since dying, which might result in a funeral, is inevitable, and a failed marriage is not.

Your marriage failure policy sounds like a policy a friend of mine has of always watching their back. I tell them that where I live there's lots of street furniture (light poles, traffic lights, dustbins, sign posts, idíots on phones, traffic, etc), I'd more likely walk into if I don't watch where I'm going.
