IbeOkehie:Russia has far too much on its plate with Ukraine I'd bet, and it favours China that dump is paving the way for them to go do to Taiwan what dump is doing to others, since it would be odd for dump to tell China not to do what he's doing. But I do wonder what he'd do if military force doesn't work. Throw the kitchen sink too at all the 90+ countries he tarriffed? I'm giving more time. Not to dump though, but to those 90+ countries. I'm specifically waiting to see S. Korea spend tax payers money making dump great again. It's looking more like they had a deal until they now haven't.

budaatum:Isn't it interesting that President Biden and his Cackling Hen retained all the Trump Tariffs from 2016? Hmmmm. President Trump is trying to get all other countries to reduce their tariffs. I believe that's one stated objective of his trade policies. Most other countries have had high tariffs against the USA while enjoying low tariff access to our markets. Reducing ALL tariffs is a good trade policy objective because tariffs are bad. If other countries don't reduce their tariffs then they lose access to the USA market. There's nothing to quarrel about. They can trade among each other and leave the USA alone, let them do BRICS, Canada-China Free Trade and Mecasour-Europe, whatever. They can also attack the USA militarily if they choose. That's life. Good Luck to Nigeria. |

IbeOkehie:If high tariffs are bad, then why do other countries have it against the US |
| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by IbeOkehie: 11:52pm On Jan 29 |
raumdeuter:Exactly. That's the point. High tariffs are bad for THE WORLD, but every country wants to impose tariffs and have other countries remove tariffs. Everyone wants immigrants to have free access to the USA but no one will agree to personally host an immigrant. White Liberals and their Cackling Hen Border Czar imported millions of immigrants but made sure to put them in Black American neighborhoods AND also double their property taxes to pay for the privilege. Yoruba & Fulani people want a United Nigeria so they can partake of Niger Delta resources, but they don't want Igbo migrants in Lagos & Kano All of this is normal human behavior. All Trump is doing is what everyone else is doing, the USA has borne the world's burdens for too long. I also believe the President GENERALLY wants to replace income taxes with tariff revenue. The income tax has been a DISASTER for the USA. Good Luck to Nigerians. |

| Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by IbeOkehie: 3:52am On Jan 30 |
armyofone:I've lived in 4 states, two blue and two red....Illinois, Maryland, Texas and NC. All in all, I prefer the Red States...going by migration data so do other Americans and also corporations. Fully $1 Trillion in wealth just left California in the last quarter of 2025, while Tennessee is attracting the most wealth in the nation. Illinois recently broke a trend of positive Black American migratory inflow that had been in place since the Great Migration. There's Black Americans protesting in the streets against extortionate property taxes in Chicago and Cook County. Below is an experience that's almost exactly similar to mine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2XbnFxHDis?si=ODbsPX5yKaUZ5Bt_ As for government programs, California is 15% of the population and contains 33% of all welfare recipients in the nation. My proudest moment as a North Carolinian was back in 2010 or so, when President Obama kept extending Unemployment Benefits on the basis of the Great Recession that started in 2008. It kept getting extended and got to the point that people got confused, it became a joke. The State of NC demanded a stop to it and the Federal Government refused. So the State refunded the Federal Govt its part of the unemployment fund, I think it was around $2 to 4 billion. Our state was the first in which unemployment started going down after the Great Recession and it happened because our government demanded responsibility from the citizens. The FIRST major legislation passed under President Trump's 2nd Term is the OBBBA. It made the tax cuts of his first term permanent and then introduced some newer tax cuts promised during the 2024 election campaign - (1) No tax on tips (2) No tax on overtime. This is the general trend of Blue State response to these new reduction in taxes for working people....waiters, busboys, cab drivers and factory hands and nurses.... https://tax.thomsonreuters.com/blog/state-decoupling-from-federal-tax-provisions/ Several states have made clear they do not plan to conform to OBBBA’s provisions, prioritizing budget stability over federal alignment: ![]() A new law TAILOR MADE to incentivize hard work is being subverted by Blue States. This singular event should tell any reasonable person what the Democrats and RINO's are all about. The thing is that most people are IGNORANT of basic economic information. It's tiring having to challenge so many wrong claims. There was nothing like fuel subsidy in Nigeria until Tinubu abolished it in May 2023 and Black Africans didn't earn any money from the Slave Trade. And Red States are more dependent on government than Blue States. Yeah sure, it's 1861 in the USA, that's the only time there is now. Good Luck to Nigerians. |

Regarding the exodus from blue states to red , Florida aspiring governor plans to tax those fleeing New York. Moving companies from blue states to say Texas also results in moving their liberal staff. Who proceed to turn a red state purple then blue. It's a double edged sword. |

[quote author=Slytiger post=138304033]Trump caught on hot mic wishing Americans see him like North Korea's rocket man ![]() say that's really true. His agenda has been blocked by activist district judges and sometimes appeal courts. Over 200 injunctions filed. Sanctuary cities are blocking ICE cooperation with their police departments. Holding the Senate and Congress majorities, very few laws have been passed. They are figuring out how to pass the VoterID law. That's how dictators roll? Compare with Obama. He literally was never questioned by media, his signature laws passed like Obamacare without a single republican. He ordered the Intelligence Community to cheat the world Putin helped Trump despite CIA having evidence that Putin wasnt favouring anyone. He deported millions earning him deporter in chief medal ,56 aliens died in ICE custody with nary a whimper of protest. He invented immigration cages then Democrats lied it was Trump .He blew up American citizens in countries America wasn't at war with.No protests. |

Mr. Man is vexed about this. Politics Trump sues IRS and Treasury for $10 billion over leaked tax information January 30, 20261:42 AM ET By The Associated Press Patrick Semansky/AP WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is suing the IRS and Treasury Department for $10 billion, as he accuses the federal agencies of a failure to prevent a leak of the president's tax information to news outlets between 2018 and 2020. The suit, filed in a Florida federal court Thursday, includes the president's sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. and the Trump organization as plaintiffs. The filing alleges that the leak of Trump and the Trump Organization's confidential tax records caused "reputational and financial harm, public embarrassment, unfairly tarnished their business reputations, portrayed them in a false light, and negatively affected President Trump, and the other Plaintiffs' public standing." In 2024, former IRS contractor Charles Edward Littlejohn of Washington, D.C. — who worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, a defense and national security tech firm — was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to leaking tax information about Trump and others to news outlets. Littlejohn, known as Chaz, gave data to The New York Times and ProPublica between 2018 and 2020 in leaks that appeared to be "unparalleled in the IRS's history," prosecutors said. The disclosure violated IRS Code 6103, one of the strictest confidentiality laws in federal statute. The Times reported in 2020 that Trump did not pay federal income tax for many years prior to 2020, and ProPublica in 2021 published a series about discrepancies in Trump's records. Six years of Trump's returns were later released by the then-Democratically controlled House Ways and Means Committee. Trump's suit states that Littlejohn's disclosures to the news organizations "caused reputational and financial harm to Plaintiffs and adversely impacted President Trump's support among voters in the 2020 presidential election." Littlejohn stole tax records of other mega-billionaires, including Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. The president's suit comes after the U.S. Treasury Department announced it has cut its contracts with Booz Allen Hamilton, earlier this week, after Littlejohn, who worked for the firm, was charged and subsequently imprisoned for leaking tax information to news outlets about thousands of the country's wealthiest people, including the president. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said at the time of the announcement that the firm "failed to implement adequate safeguards to protect sensitive data, including the confidential taxpayer information it had access to through its contracts with the Internal Revenue Service." Representatives of the White House, Treasury and IRS were not immediately available for comment. https://www.npr.org/2026/01/30/nx-s1-5693662/trump-sues-irs-and-treasury-for-10-billion-over-leaked-tax-information |

I have never been a person to support party but rather candidates, but I have to make it clear that in this midterms, I'm supporting the DEMs to win. They have to. Trump needs to be impeached or threatened with impeachment. He is ruining the system that established and strengthened America's global dominance with his international, Greenland, Canada/ Alberta etc stunts. He needs people that will set him straight with impeachment or impeachment threat. The GOP lawmakers lack the balls and interest to do that, but the DEMs lawmakers have and are, all they need is the majority in the Senate and House of Reps. The country will fare better in the hands of JD Vance or any other President or Acting President. The GOP were needed in 2024 to address the issue of radical woke (in pro woke, but when it's taken too far, that's a no), forced radical gender ideologies, cancel culture etc, now the DEMs are needed in 2026 to address the problem of Trump ruining the world order essential to America's global dominance. As I always say and will always say, Trump is a nasty person. There's a reason I supported Kamala Harris in 2024. I don't see myself changing my mind, as a matter of fact, I aren't changing my mind. Trump needs check and balance to prevent America's global collapse, and only a congress with DEMs majority can ensure that. #Xavier |
