cessna150:No update yet. I recently got my 3 years PGWP. So I updated their profile with the approved physical copy of my PGWP permit. Additionally, we already applied for non express entry pr application for them, but we would like to have them before the PR application is finalized. The processing time for PR non express entry is 16 months. |

kiiiingggggg99:It’s not about coming from a non-English country. It’s because you are applying from a low-trust environment (Nigeria), so IRCC requires much stronger proof that everything you are claiming is true unfortunately, that is the reality. Over time, the widespread submission of fake documents by some applicants holding Nigerian passports has reduced IRCC’s trust, which is why the process has become this strict for everyone else. Nigeria is among the top six countries where reports indicate a high prevalence of fraudulent documents https://irb-cisr.gc.ca/fr/renseignements-pays/rdi/Pages/index.aspx?doc=457580&pls=1&wbdisable=true&utm In 2011, it wasn’t this hard for my brother. By 2015/2016, it became much harder my sister applied then and still managed to get her visa in 2016. For me, it was even tougher: I received two student visa rejections in 2015 and 2016. Back in 2016, I was denied my second student visa and my fourth Canadian visa overall, even after paying $10,000 in first-year tuition toward a $30,000 program at Centennial College for a postgraduate diploma. At the time, my dad had about $32,000 in savings, roughly ₦20,000,000 in his personal account, and a business account with about ₦100,000,000 between 2015 and 2016. Thankfully, I was refunded after the refusal. Canadian immigration can be very frustrating, but if you understand the reasons for your rejection and properly address them, you will be fine

Would appreciate any help, please. My interest is in the visitor visa. What's the processing time like now? And what's the rate of approval? Also, is there any where I can see a complete example of a visitor visa application? Thanks! |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Nozino: 8:40pm On Jan 28 |
kiiiingggggg99:All this money and non of them could afford to pay your complete tuition? VOs are humans. You claim your Uncle or your Aunt will sponsor you, but neither of them has shown any kind of financial commitment. You only paid 1500$ out of maybe 10000$ and you’re expecting an approval. This isn’t before 2020. |

Hello everyone, I’m planning to apply for Fall 2026 study intake in Canada. I’ve already applied to College of the North Atlantic and Nova Scotia Community College for Welding and Fabrication 2years diploma I’m currently in Barcelona and completed a 1-year diploma in Business Management in June 2025, so I’m switching fields and would like to know if this change of program could affect my study permit application. I also plan to sponsor my tuition myself but may use my mum as part of proof of funds. I’d appreciate advice on the best legitimate way to prepare proof of funds for visa approval. Any guidance from those who have gone through the process would be appreciated. Thank you. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Nobody: 4:55pm On Jan 29 |
obawaya:Brief background: I completed my SSCE in 2018, then in 2022 I gained admission to a university in Benin Republic, but the result was later disqualified by the government, which affected my study plans. I later moved to Barcelona in May 2024, where I completed a 1-year diploma in Business Management in June 2025. I’m now planning to move into a skilled trade, so I’d appreciate advice on whether this change of field could affect study permit approval and how best to justify the switch. I’m also working on arranging proof of funds through legitimate means and would appreciate guidance from those who have successfully prepared theirs and @SOP writer i tried to message you on whatsapp but the number is not connected. i want you to help me structure my SOP |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by SOPWriter: 6:44pm On Jan 29 |
obawaya:Your skepticism is valid. Switching from Business Management to Welding and Fabrication is indeed a notable career shift, but note that IRCC will not refuse your application solely on this basis unless you are unable to prove the logic behind the change or the goal you highlighted is unreasonable. I would suggest you consider linking the knowledge from your existing diploma to what you stand to gain from the proposed one in Canada. With that, even though there is no academic progression, you can frame them as a bridge toward a potential lucrative venture. Having your mother as a co-sponsor is not an issue at all, so long as you both can prove your sources of funds and can guarantee a steady income flow for the second year of your program. Wishing you good luck with your application. |

There is nothing as frustrating for me from the processing side, like seeing sponsors that are not fully commited to sponsoring their relatives (we get this mostly from Uncles). They will post you till no end and at the die minute, the will tell you to use what the have provided as it is. And it makes me wonder, if you don't want to help, why raise someone's hope? Most of them are afraid that if they disclose too much, people will know the full extend of their wealth and that could lead to excessive billing or pose a security risk. It is a very tricky situation that can stillbe overcomed, try to get them involved in the reapplication process and share the notes with them so they can assist you in the process of addressing them. All the best. kiiiingggggg99: |

Please i applied for a diploma in early child care in Conestoga College and got email for admissions. Please I need help on the next phase for the application. Thank you |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by SOPWriter: 5:39pm On Jan 30 |
Babyodesco:Congratulations on your admission. The next stage would be gathering the required documents and applying for your study permit. Could you please confirm if your program is Early Child Care or Early Childhood Education? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Nozino: 6:01pm On Jan 30 |
kiiiingggggg99:I understand you completely but this only shows that your refusal was justified. Neither your Uncle or Aunt is willing to sponsor you. You’re simply using them to get the Visa. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 7:21pm On Jan 30 |
Congratulations! Accept the admission Pay the required tuition fee deposit to reserve your seat and be issued a PAL by Conestoga college. Start your visa application. Babyodesco: |

Hi guys. I have been a core believer of staying back and growing my wealth here in Nigeria. That things will get better and hopefully work out someday but the Economic projection of APC led government after 11years has been nothing but stagnation - Recession - Degradation. Infact the light at the end of the tunnel have been handed over to Joachim/seyi to brighten their own future. I need to create my own light! I have recently developed the Urge to multiply my talent in the greener part of the west. Please if you have any cohort, cult, group or community that can help me quench my desire. Please notify me here Clickrhoad@gmail.com Muhos gracias. |

Good evening house. I have been following this thread and the wealth of info here is massive. Please I have a quick inquiry: For a Self-Employed Web Developer and Author, does the Canadian study route require a different set of financial documents compared to the UK? I am trying to weigh my options between the two countries. Does Canada generally favor self-employed applicants or is it stricter? Thanks to the gurus here. |

Hi Everyone, I'm a graduate of Accounting and currently in the process of applying for my Canada study visa after 2 previous refusals in 2025 and unfortunately my previous program (Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics) got canceled. I'm now looking for suggestion on which course or program i should take for easier PR Pathway, suitable for my profile as an Accounting graduate and to increase my chances of visa approval. If anyone has been in a similar situation or has advice on good programs of fields to consider, i'd really appreciate your guidance. Attach below are the programs suggested by the school.

abimonile97:I am sorry to hear about the visa refusals and the cancellation of your program. Considering your profile and preferences, your strongest options are the IT Project Management (PGCERT) and Technology Management (PGCERT) programs. I would personally advise you to opt for IT Project Management because it builds on your core accounting skills (like budgeting, risk assessment, compliance, etc.) for the implementation of IT projects and can prepare you for tech-focused managerial roles. Technology Management is also a good choice since it focuses on the business side of tech, but it is not my top recommendation because it aligns more closely with general business management than with a technical role that I believe interests you more. It is a better choice for a Computer Science graduate looking to understand the broader business application of technology than for an accounting graduate who is already knowledgeable about the nitty-gritty of business. I hope this guides your decision, and I wish you good luck with your career. |

I had to read you post all over again to be sure I didn't miss anything. It will be easier to advise you if you can let us know how many years of work experience your have, in what field and the last refusal notes. I don't want to believe that the only reason why you were denied twice in 2025 was program choice. All the best. abimonile97: |
