many times it's cultural and they see nothing to it, in yoruba culture if a person is older than you or higher in power than you, they see it as a sign of respect and both are from that culture. in my own culture bowing is reserved for royals

another angle also is some gestures are live saver and that person is like a god on earth.
for example someone helps another adult with accomodation or a job.

That act alone could mean giving you hope. and a shake won't cut it but then I get what you're talking about though.

Do yourself a favor to do research. Just because Dbanj is not in his prime doesn't mean he's not extremely wealthy. Kokomaster, Psquare and Tuface are still doing pretty good financially. Infact better than some of these new acts.
