I’m Still In Labour Party, But Nobody Knows Tomorrow - Alex Otti by SlavaUkraini(op): 6:05am On Jan 31
Alex Otti, governor of Abia, says he remains a member of the Labour Party (LP), the platform that won him the seat in the 2023 elections.

Otti, speaking amid mass defections by opposition governors to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), added that “nobody knows tomorrow.”

The governor spoke on Thursday during his monthly media interaction, where he responded to questions on the leadership crisis within the LP.

“We are on the right side. We have maintained that Abure’s tenure has expired, and we went to court, which affirmed that,” Otti said.

“So, the court judgement confirmed that his tenure has expired and advised people to obey court decisions to save the courts from unnecessary troubles.

“We are not in an election period. If an election comes, we will still run under the Labour Party, but nobody knows tomorrow. But today, I am still in the Labour Party.”

Last week, the federal high court in Abuja ruled that the Nenadi Usman-led national caretaker committee of the LP is the authentic leadership of the party — the faction to which the Abia governor belongs.

Peter Lifu, the presiding judge, also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise the Usman-led wing of the party.

However, the rival faction led by Julius Abure said it would appeal the judgement.

He should leave that already hijacked party now. Otti should leave. Leave today not tomorrow. That party has been hijacked and ruined by Pablo Tinubu. They are going to conjure one sort of political abracadabra to deny you a second term ticket using the courts. At the very last minutes! These people loath a "working politician". They prefer robbers like themselves. Join an established party like the ADC or something . But you see The PDP and The Labour Party? Stay away from those two leprose hands of the janja-we-ed party, The APC. Run! Run now...

I know that whichever party he goes he’d still win his re-election but I do hope he doesn’t go to the APC.

If I want him to play politics, I will ask him to defect to APC and become the Leader of Orji Uzor Kalu and Ben Kalu and extinguish any iota of hope that Ben had of contesting the governorship elections in 2027.

Is he not a politician? God forbid any of my children grow up and be useless to the point that they fan a useless group or a political group. Have you seen Obi son shouting Obidient or attacking people online because of his father's failed presidential ambitions? Have you seen seyi Tinubu attacking anyone criticising his father's failure or atiku son or any governors son, Senators son, house of reps, house of assembly or even local government chairman?

Na hungry frustrated people this people are banking on. Is like me calling myself "a ratel, 30BG, wizkidFC etc.
Alex Otti might even join Apc that his Obidient noise-makers fans hate with passion, then you will start hearing "We support individual not party". Ndi ara. Oti knows that their is no polling unit on social media.

If he joins APC the supporters of the fake statistics man and agulu president, the lying machine will cry blood.

Otiloor..., he could be benched if transfer to Real Madrid cus of big interest in APC in the State, playing midfield and a captain(deputy speaker), but to Chelsea of ADC, for now the club has no world best, so such move will enhance the image of the club. Though, Obi in ADC would be a big boost for him to retain his governorship.
