Any image you see in our churches or houses are merely symbolical.
Images of Mary and saints are there for us to look up to them, emulate the way they lived their lives and ask them to *INTERCEDE* for us.

When you look at the pictures we hang in our homes, those pictures are not the person but it helps us think or remember the person. It's not about the image but what it represents.

Catholics don't *WORSHIP* images.

Catholics bow B4 images that is specifically forbidden by God.

You talk about portrait in the village. Many of such portraits can be so dusty and some even broken cos who cares? We don't worship our grandparents, we may put their portrait were we can still remember them for as long as it last and if it wears out, life goes on.

In the Catholic church, there's distinction between worship (latria) for God and veneration (doulia) for saints like Mary. Catholics only ask for Intercession means asking for her prayers. Not worshipping her as God.

The Bible is silent on many issues, but it is very bold and clear on the issue of molten and carved images. It first say don't make it. Then second it says don't worship it. So why make it in the first place in disregard to biblical injunction.
The emphasis was very clear, don't make the likeness of anything in heaven above or on earth below.
As a Catholic, I don't see anyway those images helped me in spiritual growth and development. So I have to leave that church for those that love images.
As soon as Father Tansi was beatified, our church then went and mould an image of him and placed it on the center of the altar. And in Catholic traditions, anyone passing through the altar bows, so with that image directly on the altar, whom are they bowing to? . The God you claim to worship say don't make it. You said I made it for rememberance.
Like I said, I have left the church for you people although it was my parent's church. I still like some things about the church but I cannot stand on those images after reading the Bible.

I'm bringing this here for us to talk about it because it seems there are people out there that are not telling the Archbishop the true picture of things.

The new guidelines says that all officers currently holding positions must vacate their positions for fresh people...
It also made the new leadership training, AEMP as a prerequisite...

Most of us are holding multiple positions in various levels... If you take us out, where are you going to see "Fresh people" to cover the vacuum??

Also, the AEMP being compulsory is an issue as people are not interested... How many parishioners have done the training that are now qualified??

The church is taking a wrong approach to solving the problem they're trying to solve..

Personally, I've occupied many positions in the past without having any leadership certificate to show for it. It should start from there..

The church should also make strict rules on indiscipline.. people just do things anyhow and walk away with it. Some mess up in one Parish & relocate to another parish without getting sanctioned..

Leadership tenure should be reduced to 2 or 3yrs to make it attractive...

The church should also make empowerment training compulsory in all parishes...

With these you can have a more purposeful governance in the system..

Why did God ask them to mould the image of Seraphs upon the Ark?
Why did God even tell them to construct an ark and carry it wherever they went?

Your bible says thou shall not bow down or worship any moulded or crafted image.

Bro I've follow my friend to a catholic church branch called (THE SHRINE) and I saw people gathering around a moulded image of suppose Mary crying and wailing for help.

Things are going waywardly in the Catholic which those who held the leadership position before couldn't solve.

Let there be reshuffling, if you performed well in your previous position, you might not only be recalled but promoted.

If you are not religious or Catholic, then you are not qualified to comment. Things of the spirit are done spiritually. In every church, you must go through certain training to become a leader. Even the world subject leaders to training talk more of the church.

If u haven't attended the church u can try to do so so that u will understand how things are being done in the church.

Catholic do no worship any image or statue of Jesus or Blessed Virgin Mary.
Blessed Virgin Mary is the Mother of Christ in time of need you can go to the mother or the son to obtained whatever u want from both.

Not a Catholic . From what you wrote it seems to me that the aim of the directive is to reset the leadership ... everybody must resign then they look at each position and appoint someone. Let's assume they start from the top position ...the one who was in that position has tenure ... but there were many reports of him and the little boys or girls .... he's not good for business ... he's not reappointed in any position. You ...were holding four positions ... doing a great job ...they put you in none of those positions but instead give you a much higher position....or maybe they learn you came to NL and air out some dirty laundry and decide too let you go since they have a whole lot of dirty laundry ... can't take chances. The training programme .... that's to put everyone on the same page...the fresh "graduates" would be put in various positions. Why say there is nobody to fill many positions? Didn't they always replace people? Bro... you're in a big organization ... play your part ... the one who gave the directiv is the one responsible for if things get better or worse ....and he is also replaceable.

This is not a new guideline, I remember about 3!years ago in my former parish St. John the Baptist igando. The Parish Priest implemented it immediately, we the lay faithful even nominated the person we felt could lead in the mass. If your parish is implementing it now, it’s a bit late.
