Simon has been reduced to a bench player now so Ejuke's chances of coming off the bench are very slim and with more competition that threatens even Simon, Ejuke might find himself further away from the Super Eagles. This is the depth I have always wanted.
not even to be reduced to a bench player but to be out of the team entirely

Our bench should be for players who can bring in same needed energy and quality when called upon. Imagine a situation where our bench/reserves is almost as strong as our starting team

Both Simon and Ejuke have no business in the SE, I watched Simon in our 3rd place match against Egypt and was shocked at how badly he has regressed, the guy just does the same headless chicken touchline runs and then does his legendary crosses down a blind alley to nobody, rinse and repeat.

What of Diego Costa and others?

So you're saying Osimhen isn't good enough for the EPL correct?
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 1:39pm On Feb 01
Ndidi and Osimhen remain the only exceptions for me and are the major reasons I watch The Turk Super Lig. Ndidi is Super Eagles Captain and Osimhen is our #1 player in world football and his salary & Value at Gala is super massive. The value they accord Victor makes him a god in turkey and the whole eastern europe.
He is that lad who wont suffer a drop in quality no matter where he plays and that is partly my consolation when I see him torment all the "Spors et al" of Turkey.

Aside Osimhen and Ndidi, I dont actually want our lads going to Turkey. I can only bear it a bit when they are young and using Turkey as a springboard to higher quality leagues. E.g. Ogundu from Alanyaspor to the Bundesliga.

I expect lads like Anthony Dennis to leave soon to a better quality league. Chibuike Nwaiwu will follow suit once he shows consistent solid showings.

Now, Turkey's Super Lig is actually not that bad as they have been on a rise in quality and are even a top 10 euro league now (9th ranked) but still, I prefer our lads scattered across the length and breadth of the top 5 leagues. If not there for some, then be in Holland, Portugal or Belgium, in the top clubs only.

Papi85:
e dey irritate me die

God just heard my prayers on Mola’s failed move to Fener. I don’t rate Turkish football at all no matter how we try to sugarcoat it here just because of Osimhen

I don’t see it as a league for bright talents and talents in their prime rather a league for fading talents and talents fresh out of Africa which can be used as a step to better leagues

Once the likes of Sani (Leipzig), Obah (Shakhtar) and Otele (Hamburg) keep shining at their new levels, then the Upgrade on Simon will inevitably happen and both he and Ejuke will be phased out for good. Give it time.

Folks are seriously sleeping on Ajax Amsterdam, Small boys doing wonders on the pitch. Bringing back the 94-96 Ajax vibes. New coach has gone back to basics...academy players.

Currently watching them.

And truth is. They had no other choice. They were shambles 2 seasons ago so they had to hit the reboot button by turning to their youth combining it with savvy acquisitions in the transfer marketd to serve both short term and majorly long term goals.

Ah Ajax. They must have seen the glorious display in AFCON

Besiktas why naaa

Ajax letting slip a 2-0 lead vs Excelsior currently is just another pointer to why they need an Ndidi Profile in the middle. But Besiktas sef know who dem get so Ajax may need to bid a little higher. Lol

Osimhen and Ndidi’s situation are understandable, we all know the former is there because of the money and UCL football while the latter is there because that’s the only reasonable offer he had before leaving Leicester and also his career is on downward trajectory

🚨#ClubBrugge Raphaël Onyedika – Galatasaray vs Wolfsburg!

📌 Galatasaray close to agreement with Club Brugge & player, but asked him to wait due to other options.

⚡️ Wolfsburg bid over €10M; Brugge asking just above €20M, acceptance unlikely.

👀 Eintracht Frankfurt also in the race.

Fun Fact: Ademola Lookman is ATM's 2nd Naija lad

Ademola Lookman will be the 2nd Naija player to play for Atletico Madrid in History but the first to play for them in La Liga.

The First 🇳🇬 ATM baller was Abass Muyiwa Lawal who played for ATM in La Liga 2 in the 2000/2001 season. He also featured in some copa del rey games in same season.

Between 1997/98 season and 98/99 season, he played for Atletico B in La Liga 2 (Spanish Segunda).

He went on to eventually play in La Liga but for Albacete in 2003/04 and 2004/05 making few appearances.

So while Lawal never played for ATM in La Liga, Ademola would be the first Nigerian baller to do so.
Muyiwa Lawal junior brother to Dimeji Lawal

I gave up on Ejuke after that Tunisia game in AFCON. Guy came in and was just losing the ball trying to dribble. Too worsen matters, the only time he was played through, and had a better placed Osimhen to pass to, he went for personal glory and missed the chance.

Sinon too is not better. The way he rolls the ball with the side of his boots when with the ball is annoying. He wastes too much time on the ball, allows opponents to recover to double-mark him and kills promising attacks.

Nathan Tella in Leverkusen isn't better too, so I'm glad other wingers/wing forwards are emerging.

Time to phase out the likes of Simon Moses and give younger prospects like Prosper Obah, Philip Otele and Suleiman Sani a chance to give us refreshing ideas on those wings. Osimhen etc get starved of quality service from the wings because the ones we have there are glorified atilogwu dancers at best.

Guardiola actually played a 4-2-3-1 with O'Reilly and Bernardo Silva at the base of midfield, a high press meant leaving AbdulKarim against Haaland in a one on one situation which led to the first goal, Gala were then more compact to block central areas in the second half but were still carved open by dribbling of Reindjeirs and Ait Nouri for clear chances which were missed
I wanted to abandon this discussion when you included the adverb "actually", indicating your assuredness, but at a second thought, i changed my mind.

ManCity deployed 4-1-4-1.
