Osun: Accord Party Rejects Adeleke Nomination, Says INEC Recognized Bamigbola by press9jatv(op): 8:40am On Feb 02
The attention of the Accord Party has been drawn to a misleading and false publication circulating in the public space, alleging that Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has been uploaded by the Accord Party as its candidate for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

For the avoidance of doubt, this claim is entirely false, misleading, and calculated to deceive the public.

While the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may claim to have received certain nomination information, INEC cannot deny that it also duly received and acknowledged the nomination of Mr. Kolawole Clement Bamigbola submitted alongside all statutory documents, including EC9, EC13B, and the report of a validly conducted primary election, at its Abuja headquarters.

Accordingly, the duly nominated and legitimate gubernatorial candidate of the Accord Party for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election is Mr. Kolawole Clement Bamigbola.

It is important to state clearly that while issues relating to the national leadership of the Accord Party remain sub judice, the Prof. Chris Imumolen–led faction has taken all lawful, procedural, and constitutional steps to protect the party from hijackers, impersonators, and unlawful interference, and to preserve the integrity of its internal democratic processes pending the final determination of the court.

The misleading publication was deliberately crafted to create the false impression that there is no credible Accord Party candidate, and to cast doubt on the valid candidacy of Kolawole Clement Bamigbola. This narrative is false, baseless, and must be completely disregarded.

The public, the media, and all stakeholders are therefore strongly advised to discountenance speculative reports, propaganda, and manufactured narratives intended to undermine the Accord Party and its lawful candidate. There exists no legal or factual basis for the claims being circulated.

We urge all party members and supporters to remain calm, focused, and resolute in their support for Kolawole Clement Bamigbola, as the Accord Party remains firmly committed to due process, internal democracy, and the rule of law.

The Accord Party will not be distracted by mischief-makers or political opportunists. The facts are clear, the records are intact, and the law will prevail.

Politics in Osun is heating up again. This rejection shows that Accord Party is still battling internal cracks, and it raises questions about unity and credibility ahead of future contests. When a party cannot agree on who its own candidate is, it weakens its bargaining power and gives opponents an easy advantage.

All APC antics and backdoor destroyer will not work. INEC already recognize Adeleke and nothing can stop him from winning the election. The APC know Osun people has rejected them and will continue to reject them, that's why they resort to backdoor

Osun 2026: Accord Confirms Adeleke as Governorship Candidate

January 29, 2026

The Accord Party in Osun State has announced that Governor Ademola Adeleke has been formally recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as its governorship candidate for the August 8, 2026 election.

The party’s state chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday in Osogbo, explaining that the confirmation followed the successful completion and submission of all required nomination documents to INEC.

He said the electoral body has now listed Adeleke as the party’s duly nominated candidate.

Describing the development as a major step in the party’s election preparations, Akande said it resolved any uncertainty surrounding Accord’s nomination process for the 2026 governorship race.

Bro stop deceiving yourself, at what time in the history of Nigeria did all opposition parties started having internal problems? Only on Tinubu regime that we have seen virtually all opposition parties in internal issues except APC.

He should keep destroying Nigeria democracy for personal interest

Does that mean in the current political administration, it is only one Party that is Eligible to participate in elective position? I can see that all order Parties apart of the Rulling Party are having National factions and legal disputes.
As it is today, apart from APGA all other Alternative Opposition Parties cannot produce candidates in the next election.
These realities are not healthy for the Country democratic journey.
