my advise for Davido he should sign for a popular forigen record music label. Like U said ayra star might win before him cause this Grammy organizers to care about party bangers I suspect say na omalay no make an win cause d organizers go struggle to here his verse. But on a serious note which one come be sweet fanta girl oo I no feel forget o ? He no even explain why he no feel forget for the song the organizers still got confuse for that part too . Am sorry if tuface put more effort he might win a Grammy . My conscience is my property Grammy wickedness is overrated

Nigerian musicians are not putting their best foot forward. Davido was supposed to push and promote Kante as his best song, he didn't. He chose unavailable instead. Same thing for Asake and Burna.

But on the real though, Tyla has a media and publishing machinery behind her pushing her songs to every platform. She is winning the next one with her song 'Channel' unless 9Ja guys go get signed to better US record labels and of course do the needful by cooking in the studio.

The Grammy awards is for the American music audience NOT for the Nigerian/African music audience.

Tyla's song "Water" was massive in the USA (the world's largest music market). The song made Tyla mainstream in that country even outside it.

Many American music listeners have no idea who Davido is.He may be a god in Osun,kaduna,Oyo,Lagos etc but in America?Many folks have no idea who he is.

So the main issue is,Tyla winning the award will only give more spotlight to the Afrobeats music category on streaming platforms mostly in the USA and may be some of the music listeners over there may discover artistes like Davido, kizz Daniel,Omah lay etc.

Its capitalism 101.

A word of advice to Nigerian Afrobeats artistes,if you really want to become a world music star especially in the USA,focus more energy on making songs with k-pop artistes,Justin bieber,Sabrina Carpenter,Ed Sheeran,Taylor Swift,Bruno Mars,The Weeknd etc and spend less energy making songs with other African artistes,Carribean artistes and "urban artistes" (rappers,r&b,etc) from the USA & UK

WizKid can produce magic when he wants to I believe. Essence was so good that an African category had to be created for subsequent awards, a thing Tyla is now the biggest beneficiary of. Without that African category, Tyla wouldn't even be nominated not to talk less of winning a Grammy. Essence came too early, too too early.

If care is not taken for a very long time , Burna Boy might remain the only male artist alive in Nigeria that won Grammy…

Reason being that most Nigerian artists are not original in their beats and lyrics, they always try to copy each other. If not with strong connections and foreign collaborations Burna boy wouldn’t have won it either…. Tyla will have another Grammy and Ayra star might win it before davido and Wizkid because of good music…

Good music is different from party bangers played at Nigerian clubs and bars…

Grammy reward originality and good rendition… this is why Davido and wizkid can not win it but will always be nominated to make it go far…

If Davido is capable of making songs like Brymo, he would’ve won his Grammy… I think Brymo needs to start submitting his songs to the organisers for possible nominations…

Omay lay is also capable of winning the Grammy, he makes good songs also
