But from the statements coming from the spokesperson of both governors, they both lay claim to the island and not a co-ownership statement. Anyways, the boundary commission will settle the dispute at the end of the day. Christistruth03: |

LeopardX:Shuuu....bro, relax o. This should be resolved by the appropriate federal government agency, and if either is still not satisfied, they head to court. That means no oil exploration in that place for about 10 years at least. |

abuhusna1:Wrong map. Ogun State supposed to be where he put ondo state in the map you're referring to. It's Ogun State before ondo state. |

Let them settle it amicably o. I don't want to hear say people die because of oil wey God give us free of charge. I suggest Ogun State should have it, that way Ogun State become an oil producing state. |

Rossychy:Are the people in the island Ilaje or Ijebu? If they are Ilaje, it's Ondo, if they are Ijebu, it is Ogun. They are both irresponsible government. They ignored the Island, no infrastructure, no government presence. Now there is oil, they are fighting over it. |

Kewtt:LOL which war, abeg rest 😂 Yorubas won't fight each other over well-defined boundaries, so it is not for you to determine what is already in the law. That place is a territory under Ogun state, clear as day. |
| Re: Eba Island: Ogun And Ondo Battle Over Ownership Of Oil Rich Island by cyberbro: 2:44pm On Feb 02 |
Eriokanmi:It is a territory under Ogun, that was what even the governor cited. It is Ogun state land, even as stated by the Boundaries Commission, so no need to be sentimenal. |

cyberbro:Ogun should have it then, if boundaries commission has ceded it to them. |
| Re: Eba Island: Ogun And Ondo Battle Over Ownership Of Oil Rich Island by cyberbro: 3:39pm On Feb 02 |
Eriokanmi:Exactly. There should be no argument if most people here read the Ogun state govt's statement. It is a territory under Ogun state but Ondo state feels it's closer to their region and it should be theirs. Facts must be separated from feelings and sentiments. |

GUNITGuy:My grandfather-great grandfather is from Igbo Edun. Our family migrated from Mahin in present-day Ondo State to Igbo Edun, which is accessible by boat. U can get to Igbo Edun through ode Omi as well. Historically, my grandfather maintained that the land belongs to Ogun State. Unfortunately, because the people speak the Ilaje language while residing in Ogun State, Ondo State has continued to lay claim to the territory based on linguistic affiliation rather than administrative boundaries. During the referendum conducted in the 1970s–1990s, communities were asked whether they wished to remain in Ogun State or be transferred to Ondo State. Our family remained truthful and consistent, firmly maintaining that Igbo Edun/Eba land is Ogun State territory. |

Its a nothing burger really, there are 774 local govts recognized by the constitution. The land must currently fall in one of the local council. Whichever state that council currently belongs, own the land. No argument! |

BlackViper:That land clearly belongs to Ondo state as seen on the map, Ogun state CANNOT be claiming a land that is across the Atlantic, they can as well claim to own America....the person that divided that land to make it look like it is owned by Ogun state should be arrested.
