I used to be pissed off about it, but now I understand safety first. There are also cases where poles would fall down and electrocute people. It is better to turn it off for a few hours. Everybody go dey alright.

I don't need to ask. It is what is obtainable in Nigeria. Go to other countries and experience their engineering or take over IKEDC and overhaul it with your superior knowledge.

Other countries that have uninterrupted power supply, it doesn't rain over there abi😡 embarassed embarassed. In December, they told us the reason why there was poor electricity supply was that a pipe in escravos supplying gas to gencos was faulty, they claimed they fixed it in January 2026, till now, we only have less than two hours light every two days in my area embarassed
The rain in some countries especially in europe is different from that of Naija. I'm not trying to defend PHCN but trying to let you know what I observe here in the UK where i am presently. Yes it rains very well here but their rain is different, the rain is always light that you can literally go anywhere you want to go, you will see people walking inside it unborthered. In addition to that, the rain is not accompanied by lightning and thunderstorm, I have not seen any lightning or heard any thunderstorm since I arrived here. So it may not affect the electricity in any way unlike Naija.

how about those countries have have hurricanes and typhoons but still have stable power? Nigeria is just a simple case of bad, inefficient and corrupt leadership.

There's always risk for the likes of Ikorodu and Agege and their light must go off when it rains while the highbrow areas of Lekki, ikoyi etc continue to have power even through the heaviest of rains...you have just explained your inefficiency as a government parastatal undecided undecided undecided undecided

Take over IKEDC and give a solution. No excuses. Okay?
Is this one okay?

Nonsense, our standard of living today is equivalent to how it was in the 50's in developed countries.
Our equipment are simple too old and useless.

This must be the highest foolish response i have heard. It rains almost everyday in scotland and they have never taken light for 1minute. If that explanation were true then how come people here enjoy light 24/7. Over 5yrs now tgey have not taken light for 1minute. Stupid and Tinubu teeth when he fell in turkey

That is not totally true. Last year, there was heavy rainfall in glasgow and there was flooding. Light was not taken for 1minute

Normally, I expect everybody to know that it is just a safety precaution. Sometimes, rain comes with strong wind that can break poles, thereby causing electrocution. Prevention they say is better than cure.

don’t mind that guy, in our country do we have strong/good things everywhere? Tomorrow, take a walk and try to lean on or shake up to five poles that you find around and you’ll realize why things have to be different in our country.

The 'honourable' minister of power is an accountant. He is more interested in purchasing 'China used' angry musical equipment as recommended by seers - than solving any power problems.

When China is trying to teach America technology, it's unfortunate that you people always use America as a yardstick for what is right and wrong.

So, because there are power outages in parts of New York, it is okay for us to experience the same? Make I no talk wetin dey my mind.
You have smart in your name so one should expect you to be smart. I'm not cut out for China vs US.
Power outages are a universal issue affecting both developed and developing countries. China also suffer from power outages despite having the highest power generation in the world. One of the causes of power outage is weather. Nigeria has a lot of issues facing the power sector from load shedding to aging grid infrastructure. So why is it surprising that power outage can occur in bad weather?

And in my village, the community solar grid never collapses under deadly thunder storms and there is no single transformer in the community. Why will Nigeria not 'trans-grid' to smart energy... Eh why? I tire for this country.

Nothing "shameless", here. The handle explained in the light of current realities!

Our infrastructure is BAD

Our power infrastructure can't handle generating more electricity and it didn't start today.

With all the money waster by OBJ on power, we are still here.

You've said it all! Our infrastructure is decayed and modernising it isn't a one time investment but one done over time by successive governments.

So do we just sit there and choose not to develop our electricity because it'll affect some people who are not trying to upgrade their way of living to that of the era we are living or do what's necessary
