ogododo:
Dangote Refinery has outlined its fuel production and distribution operations, warning that reliance on coastal logistics could significantly increase petrol prices if the additional costs are transferred to consumers.

In a statement on its official X account on Thursday titled “Six things to know about Dangote Refinery fuel production and distribution”, the company said its refinery operates a world-class gantry facility with 91 loading bays, capable of handling up to 2,900 tankers daily and evacuating over 50 million litres of petrol and 14 million litres of diesel through continuous 24-hour operations.

Dangote noted that gantry loading, which it described as the most cost-efficient evacuation method, helps eliminate port charges, maritime levies, and vessel-related expenses that do not benefit end users.

The firm said, “Gantry loading is identified as the most cost-efficient evacuation method, as it eliminates port charges, maritime levies and vessel-related costs that do not benefit end users.”

The refinery also emphasised that marketers are free to choose between gantry and coastal loading, adding that the company does not impose restrictions on evacuation modes. However, it warned that coastal logistics could add about N75 per litre to petrol costs, potentially pushing pump prices close to N1,000 per litre if passed on to consumers.

“Marketers are free to choose between gantry and coastal loading, and the refinery does not impose restrictions on evacuation modes. Coastal logistics can add about N75 per litre to petrol costs, potentially pushing PMS pump prices close to N1,000 per litre if passed on to consumers,” it said.

Dangote Refinery added that Nigeria’s daily consumption averages “about 50 million litres of PMS and 14 million litres of diesel,” noting that reliance on coastal logistics could impose “an additional annual cost of approximately N1.752 trillion.”

Highlighting the impact of local refining, the firm said, “Local refining has significantly reduced fuel prices, with diesel falling from about N1,700 to N980–N990 per litre, and PMS dropping from around N1,250 to N839–N900 per litre, while also easing FX pressure and supporting naira stability.”

980/990 Naira isn’t close enough to 1,000 Naira? In fact, make the thing 1,000 Naira so we can rest.

Fuel cost, fuel cost, yet motor full road every day. Maybe cars run on water nowadays.

Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC

January 19, 2015

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.

On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.

But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.

It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

Buhari’ll reduce petrol to N40/L —David-West

FORMER Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Prof. Tamunoemi David-West, said that Nigerians should expect sharp drop in petrol price from the current N87 to about N40 per litre, saying, “the president-elect, Gen. Mohammed Buhari, will reduce the fuel pump price to N40 per litre.”

Before now, what was the mode of loading that led to a reduction in the price of petrol?

The hapless and helpless ordinary citizens are sick and tired of these excuses to justify increases in the pump price of petrol.

We were initially told that international price of crude oil is rising and so it must affect domestic price even though Dangote buys in Naira and not in Dollars.

Just before Nigerians could come to terms with the sad reality, here comes another excuse to warrant further increases.

As it was with Dangote Cement, so it is with Dangote Petrol?

Dangote, kuku kill all Nigerians so that only you and your family will remain on earth.

Haba!

If you can afford a license to import, by all means do so.

Who needs coastal highway at N1000 petrol and N1400 to $1.

We were better off with bad roads, at least fuel was cheap.

VanuatuWycombe:
Dangote is advising marketers who are buying from him to come and load their fuel at gantry instead of the marketers to request to be loaded at sea side (especially those buying into vessels).

He said if they prefer to be loaded at the coastal (sea side) area, it will add N75 to every one liter of fuel pumped into their vessels.
This additional N75 cost per liter will be passed to final consumers.

——
If a marketer is not exporting to other countries, why would they want to use coastal loading facilities?

Some of them may have tank farms at Apapa and want to use their vessels to collect fuel at Lekki then go and dump it in their tank at Apapa.

Taking advantage of Dangote’s free fuel delivery, I see no reason why a marketer, who is not exporting fuel o, will want to be loaded at seaside.
The only reasonable comment I have seen on this post, the rest are myopic illusionists displaying there emotional-based ignorance.

No business man doesn't want profit. Especially, business that loan was the capital base.
But then, why is it always that when Dangote comes into a particular sector, the price of that commodity skyrockets.
Business men are just like politicians.
Ones established, they forgot campaign promises.
Dangote was the one who also increased your minimum wage Abi?

Another thread that exposes people that can't read and understand simple texts.

In simple English

Dangote did not say that they are going to increase prices. It was simply describing its operations.

It said that it has the ability to load 2,900 tanker trucks with fuel everyday.

It also said that customers can also choose to receive fuel bh ships.

However it said that receiving fuel by ships is more expensive because of port charges, etc.

It said that receiving fuel by ship could add as much as ₦75 and bring the cost of fuel to around ₦1,000 per litre.

That's all it said.

Now ask yourself, how do most dealers receive fuel? Is it by ship or by tanker truck?
