White House Press Secretary Leavitt said in a statement the video “is from an internet meme depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from the ‘Lion King,’” though there are no gorillas featured in prominent roles in the Disney movie.

Leavitt advised to “please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public,” but by 12 p.m. EST the video had been deleted from Trump’s Truth Social page.
