deyo19:Yes you need to call them to cancel your Abuja application and then do a fresh application for Lagos. They stopped processing new appointments for Nigerians in Abuja on 17th November.

Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate some guidance on this. I work with a company based in the Netherlands, and we have a general company kickoff scheduled to take place in Prague, Czech Republic, from April 15–17. The trip is fully company-paid (flight tickets and hotel accommodation in Prague). I checked the Czech Republic embassy for visa appointments, but unfortunately the earliest available appointment date is September, which is well after the kickoff. I’m now considering applying through another Schengen country (for example, France) and then traveling onward to Prague. However, I’m unsure how to approach this properly, especially with the documentation and cover letter. The documents I currently have are: • An invitation letter from my company • Hotel reservation in Prague (not France) • The event details for the kickoff in Prague My concern is that everything I have is Prague-based, so I’m not sure: • Whether applying through another Schengen country is advisable in this case • How to structure my cover letter if I do apply through a different country • Or if there’s another recommended route I should be taking Has anyone been in a similar situation or can advise on the best way to proceed? I need help please! |

Dasolajay:What you should do if you’re applying through another Schengen country is to not mention anything about Czech. Let’s say it’s France. Apply fresh like you’re going to France on vacation, you will have a better chance of receiving the visa. If you receive the French visa it is importnat that you use France as your entry to Europe and that you spend majority of your trip in France so that when you’re applying for Schengen next time, it wouldn’t raise red flags |

Update on what I’ve done so far, I went ahead and started my application through the France-Visas platform and I was able to secure a biometrics appointment at TLS next week. To keep my application straightforward, I adjusted my itinerary so that my first entry into the Schengen Area will be the Netherlands since my employer is Netherlands-based and I will have an office visit there, and then I will travel to Czech for the kickoff event Documents I’m gathering for the appointment: Completed Schengen application form + France-Visas receipt + TLS appointment confirmation Passport + passport photographs 6-month bank statement (current balance is about 3m naira ) Axa Mansard Travel insurance, I did for 9 days Hotel reservation in Amsterdam (Netherlands) Hotel reservation in Prague (Czech Republic) Flight reservations Cover letter explaining the trip and itinerary Employment Agreement Invitation Letter Marriage certificate (to support ties to Nigeria) Gurus in the house, I’d really appreciate your thoughts, does this look like a strong application ? If there’s anything else you think I should add or remove before my appointment, please let me know. Thanks you🙏 |

Dasolajay:I see an easy rejection here based on the fact that they will refer you to another embassy |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Dasolajay: 10:03am On Feb 08 |
Lekan2348:Hmmmn, but I’m entering the Schengen Area via the Netherlands with confirmed hotel accommodation and I’m visiting my employer’s office before travelling to Prague for the kickoff, and my cover letter + supporting documents reflect this clearly. My employer is in the Netherlands, only that the main event is in Prague/Czech. Also, there’s no where to book for a visa to the Netherlands, I was referred to book on the France Visa Application website. And that’s my reason for using the French embassy, I have a real reason to be in the Netherlands before going to Prague. |

Dasolajay:You are to book Netherlands visa, just that France act as their agent in nigeria. The rule for schenghen visa is as below. Not sure if they allow exception. 1. When visiting multiple schenghen countries, apply to the main destination (i.e., country of longest stay) 2. If you are spending exact same number of days in all country, apply to country of first entry. |

Biya007:Although the event i was to attend expired some days and even my hotel booking and flight expired before decision was made by the Consulate on my application could this be the reason for my rejection? Above or its something else? |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Manlikechims: 5:48am On Feb 10 |
Dasolajay:I think their point is don’t complicate your application. Keep it simple. French embassy in the last few months have been more strict and refusal rates have since increased. What’s your travel history too? Also, you only need 3 months bank statement not 6. Best thing you can do in my opinion is ask your office to give you a letter and build your itinerary around Netherlands. Schengen is open border so you can easily arrive in Netherlands and find your way to wherever else. Just make sure your itinerary covers the number of days you’d be traveling for. |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Manlikechims: 9:35am On Feb 11 |
Biya007:German embassy is one of the toughest Schengen states to apply from if you don’t have a solid travel history and a very good reason to make that trip. You’ve recently been refused from French embassy , you going to German wouldn’t be a great idea, almost like you’re setting yourself up for another refusal. If you go through this thread (in the last few months) you’d notice approvals have dipped. If your purpose of the trip is also no longer valid then that can also affect your application. Did you apply early enough? You also don’t need to add NIN slip and building pictures. Your nin number is on your passport. Do you have any travel history? |

Hello house Pls I need advice I got my Schengen visa through France Must u visit France first? Planning to visit another Schengen country for few days before going to France Or must I enter through France |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Manlikechims: 8:00pm On Feb 11 |
MsAnonymous:Ideally, you should. What airline are you traveling with? If you’re going with Airfrance then you’d be stamped in at CDG- Paris. If it’s KLM then it’s Schipol- Amsterdam, if it’s Lufthansa then it’s will be Frankfurt and now depends on where you intend going. What was your initial itinerary when you submitted your application. The border police can be unpredictable, you may get to your first point of entry and it’s easy, if you meet someone who decides to give you grief then that’s another thing. |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Lekan2348: 11:46pm On Feb 11 |
Manlikechims:This is not how it works. If I’m not mistaken with what you are saying. It doesn’t matter what airline you use, you will only be stamped it at your destination and not the stopover. For the question that was asked earlier, you should enter France first and spend the most time there during your trip. For the sake of renewal. Because your last trip will be observed when reapplying for another Schengen visa |
| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Biya007: 5:48am On Feb 12 |
Manlikechims:Thank you very much, I appreciate I want to reapply for France again in the near future, Yes we submitted late was my biggest fear, I submitted 2 weeks before the intended event and response from embassy came one week after the event has passed. That's my fault though because I was supposed to submit early but getting to tls office they said am going for business and my visa application indicates tourist. So I have to rebook another date. Which to get another date early is almost impossible hence the delay. So what documents would you suggest I add up again as I don crack my brain and everything that tie me to Nigeria I submitted. I would appreciate your input and everyone support please. |

| Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by Manlikechims: 8:35am On Feb 12 |
Lekan2348:I am a frequent traveler. Schengen is an open border. Once you get stamped in that’s it. It becomes like a 'local flight' if you go with airlines like Turkish air, Air maroc and co, then that’s it’s a different case. Youd then have to go to your issuing state. If you do enter from a Schengen state airline ( KLM, Airfrance, Lufthansa)it’s different. As said if you fly with airfrance then you’re stamped in at CDG and if you decide to fly out with KLM you’re getting stamped out from Amsterdam Schipol. I’d give an example, I have a Swiss Schengen visa and I enter Airfrance, my first point of entry is Paris( CDG) this is where i am going to get stamped in. Also note that my ticket will show my final destination is say Geneva in Switzerland for example. Once I go through border control and my layover is long in Paris and i decide to come out and play that’s my cup of tea. It’s almost like you’re going from lagos to abuja. |

I got a 3 month multiple entry German Schengen visa-First ever Schengen visa application and was granted, destination was Germany, I could not get any flight directly to Germany-Lufthansa was fully booked and not available, I used Air France and landed in Charles De Gaul and I was stamped and admitted into Schengen territory in Paris, France and eventually proceeded to my final destination: Hamburg, Germany. You are right, as soon as you enter Schengen ZOne any of schengen country u came in will stamp you in, and no other schengen will restamp you again cause you're already inside Schengen, unless you want to exit that is when you will get another stamp, Manlikechims: |
