Continue to lament foolishly while your men get slaughtered like chickens. What stops you all this while from using the drones yourselves. Are the rat tag terrorists more intelligent and richer than you? Even if they now convert commercial drones to attack drones go and learn same and use it against them. Aside that, if you re serious to fight this terrorists, you should embrased US offer to assist and demand technology from Israel, rather than terrorist Turkey where you went and fell. I am not pro Biafra, but this same weak lamenting army gets brutal when it comes to ipob. |

Samuel said the jihadist groups were influenced and trained by foreign fighters to constantly adopt new methods - from making roadside bombs and suicide belts, they had now learned to turn "off-the-shelf" drones into weapons. yet they ban drones from people who used it legally |

They claim they are of peace. But the Bible says we should beware of such peace. |

There's nothing "off the shelf" about those drones. They are being supplied those drones by some powerful governments and sources. |

The truth is that 97% of the so-called "moderates" support what they are doing. That is why: NEVER TRUST anyone of them. |

CodeTemplarr:This is a huge problem. And given how slow the government is to respond to things, it's a catastrophe. |

Those horrid little virgin-hunting Islamists will ruin the drone hobby for anyone visiting or living in Nigeria. The restrictions on drones are already draconian in Nigeria, and this news that the turban-heads have learned how to ape what they see online from Ukraine, is bad news indeed. Somalia is already dealing with a wave of drone attacks, and local fabrication factories have already been spotted in remote areas of that wasted country. Hopefully the Nigerian military will work with its partners to snuff out the Jihadists before they can reach the level of destructiveness seen in Somalia already. |

Stop lying, they are buying kamikaze drones issued by Iran and being used in Ukraine war! You purposefully gave them Ariel power. The regular drones they use is for Reconnaissance. Theres no way you can arm a civilian drone with explosives and denote them atva range of over 500m |
| Re: How Off-the-shelf Drones Are Changing Jihadist Warfare In West Africa by Jakumo(m): 2:37pm On Feb 09 |
43Ronin:Well 500 meters is adequate in warfare, sadly |
| Re: How Off-the-shelf Drones Are Changing Jihadist Warfare In West Africa by Jakumo(m): 2:40pm On Feb 09 |
43Ronin:A few months ago, a Chinese-made Mavic 3 quadcopter drone was shot down by the Nigerian military after that drone was sent to try and drop a grenade on troops. This means that the Islamists are not only using kamikaze drones, but several types of even more readily available ones. |

Naustine:No. They use peer-to-peer WiFi or similar high bandwidth radio frequencies, or drones reeling out fiberoptic cables to avoid jamming devices. Internet not required |
| Re: How Off-the-shelf Drones Are Changing Jihadist Warfare In West Africa by Jakumo(m): 2:54pm On Feb 09 |
Mrexcell:The drone will be seized by customs if it is spotted, even if is is just a toy drone with a few feet of range. The last time I imported drones to Nigeria, I wound up paying THRICE the combined value of the drones to customs in Lagos. |

Neoteny:Those fiber-optic kamikaze drones are wreaking havoc on both sides in Ukraine's war fending off Russia's invasion. The Russians invented the idea of fiber optic drones to thwart signal jamming, but soon enough the Ukrainians deployed their own versions to devastating effect. If you have a vey strong stomach, you can see what a kamikaze drone does to the human body on Reddit, where the gore is not censored. |

Follow the money and you will know who is funding these jihadists. It's either internal or external and they can be identified. The problem we have is compromise. |
