Dickson Insists On Electronic Transmission; Urges Adoption Of House Version by Josepholome(op): 5:14pm On Feb 12
Clarification on Senator Henry Seriake Dickson’s Position on Electronic Transmission of Election Results, Electronic Voting

Dickson Insists on Electronic Transmission; Urges Adoption of House Version Over Senate Proviso

Our Attention has been drawn to media reports misquoting His Excellency Senator Henry Seriake Dickson’s statements during his appearance on Arise TV, falsely suggesting that he opposes real-time transmission of election results and that Nigerians are not ready for electronic voting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-PWek-ZZIs?si=CgIAEtCwOzAcY3Mu

For the record, Senator Dickson has consistently championed electoral reforms in Nigeria. He believes in electronic voting and has actively fought for the electronic transmission of election results from the 9th Senate till date. This is why he disagrees with the Senate proviso and called for the adoption of the House of Reps’ version to be adopted by the Conference Committee.

Senator Dickson commends Nigerians for their vigilance and urges them to mobilize, vote for credible candidates, and insist that their votes count and are electronically transmitted to the IREV by the Presiding Officers.

Senator Dickson is a leading champion of democratic rights at the National Assembly, and all his activities and advocacies reflect this. He should not be quoted out of context.

Honestly I don't think the electronic transmission of results is possible. During the 2023 election, some polling units couldn't use the electronic voters accreditation due to faulty machine. They have to revert back to the manual accreditation.

God bless Senator Dickson and others who support the will of the masses.

Vigilance is the key word.
We must be vigilant even on the day of election. We must note those dragging us backwards and vote them out.

Hmmm. Common sense has gone out of the window. Is it so hard to fathom?

U call conclusive evidence of that which u are a witness to a claim?

The problem of Nigeria is that many people are mentally lazy to read whatever is written in a book. There's nowhere, the National Assembly has placed a ban of e-transmission of results but real-time.

Maybe u are not aware that an endorsement of The House of Assembly is the will of the masses.

Amongst the masses, there are always a few disgruntled that will have a different opinion, & act as the opposition, yourself, Dickson, Atiku, Obi & some others fit the script of the minority.

It is possible. It was Inec handwork to manipulate the results.

The law passed mandates that were it cannot be done electronically, revert to manual.

You are blaming the president for a bill that the people u sent to the house of assembly to represent u passed?

No wonder it is said by the stoic that a failure, will always look 👀 for someone else, or something to blame for been a Failure.

Why are you guys afraid of free and fair election in Nigeria , Nigerians are insisting on normal manual paper voting, manual counting in front of voters then signatures and stamp of officials, then scan and transmit result electronically to serve for everyone to see results. You guys keep on running halter scalter on simple process that will eliminate rigging in Nigeria elections.

That is the puzzling thing about this much ado about nothing, they are aware it was done to rig, yet some people & them will still be wailing in ignorance.

Since we are all aware that 4-+4=8, why the need for further calculation?

Nonsense. To deduct tax electronically is swift to do but to transmit election results electronically, you are counting faults. There is no system that's completely faultless even including manual. So let's go the way of electronic transmission

Say the minority opposition is insisting, because a bill passed by the National Assembly of your country is the will of the majority, na una send them go Abuja go represent u.

akpabio has been the one defending the position and giving excuses for inec as if he has the final say.
With which votes from different senators did he form that conclusion?
Many senators representing different constituents are against his stance and some have even publicly expressed it.

U seem to be delusional on what u are imagining? The law says Eyeneck @ their discretion will make the final decision whether to transmit electronically or manual based on the circumstances in from of them on that day.

It seems you have poor English comprehension. The National Assembly is not against electronic transmission but real-time. Do you even understand what real-time is? The National Assembly is only saying real-time should be expunged from the conversation so as to avert litigation at the tribunals.
Are the videos from the bandits and terrorists real-time?

It is a democratic system, of course some, many senators will be against, even in a military dictatorship, there are always a few that will have a different opinion, but after all said & done, the will of the majority will carry the day.
