alterego17:Good afternoon Chief, I actually have this type of content on my YouTube where i list out different MMFs that performed better every month. https:///www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLelyzjGuxrbj-ORzfwOEveV2vK0j1e3fw That should guide you to make informed decision and stay subscribed because I post that information every month end. Or if you don't have the time to watch my video, you can check fman.com.ng to see MMF that better suit you. |

| Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 3:18pm On Feb 12 |
Just go for conservative investment. The return might be lower but the risk of losing your money is low also. Sirchiboy: |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 3:29pm On Feb 12 |
So once we leave our investments like that of aggressive portfolio in Cowrywise for longer time, it's going to worthwhile right? I am here for long term and I am not in hurry to cash out. The return I am seeing on my Trustbanc in Cowrywise is far below what I am seeing in the aggressive portfolio. bassdow: |

| Re: Mutual Funds by Preator: 3:51pm On Feb 12 |
Gokoyer0:If you are in for the long time, equity is ur best bet. Far better than MMF. My cowrywise equity has yielded almost x3 of my money market in rates this year alone. Note: this is unrealized gain. I could log on tommorow and notice it has now become negative or yielded far lower than MMF. Not for the faint-hearted. Fidelity shares wey i buy since last year still red till now 😢 |

alterego17:This is normal as a beginner. Every investor (including beginners) wants to be careful so as not to make fatal mistake. I can assure you that as long as you keep asking questions here, you won't make mistakes as there are several experts here and including myself will ensure your questions is answered satisfactorily. For privacy purposes, you could choose not to mention amount intended to be invested but just the investment. *MMF is for preserving and compounding wealth. *Equity mutual fund is for long term growth *Fixed income is for taking whatever you can get daily from bond and money market instruments. *Fixed deposits with banks is for the uninformed urbanites. *Balanced Fund mirrors Equity mutual funds *Picking individual stocks is not different from trading crypto (high risk, high reward) only if you know what you doing. Those investments aforementioned are what most Nigerians engage in. Anyone you don't understand we can discuss further here so everyone can learn and anyone can contribute their own knowledge. |

Beeron:🤑🤣😂 |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Nobody: 5:33pm On Feb 12 |
For long term investment that does not mind seeing losses sometime, I think equity investment is the best. My fund in MMF is 3x that of my equity in Cowrywise, however, I have made 3x of the profit in the latter. If all my capital in equity will not disappear one day and overall return is significantly higher than MMF like what I am experiencing, I think I will invest more in equity then. Everyone has their targets. Preator: |

I am buying shares here and there in cowrywise. Diversification in equity is crucial though so that gains in some will cover for losses in the other. Preator: |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 6:05pm On Feb 12 |
Gokoyer0:yes. from 1-year and above BUT if you're after sharp sharp results, just remain with MMF |
| Re: Mutual Funds by bassdow: 6:11pm On Feb 12 |
Preator:One of the reasons I suggested they focus on the likes of Stanbic IBTC Enhanced Fixed Income Fund (could loose a little bit of your capital like 25% or less) Stanbic IBTC Guaranteed Investment Fund (You never loose your capital) then always choose for them to pay your earned interest into your bank account so you could either SPEND or reInvest BECAUSE if you allow it automatically compound, it doesn't get the safety assurance your capital enjoys. https://www.stanbicibtcfundsmanagement.com/invest-now-l8yyj3l8 |

Gokoyer0:Definitely. I have a diversified holdings of stocks. But i generally dont like discussing equities here because newbies can get burnt easily thinking its always sweet. Better they focus on MMF until they get bolder. e.g. if you bought ncr last year, you will be laughing hysterically now. The gains was mad. |

| Re: Mutual Funds by emmasoft(m): 11:39pm On Feb 12 |
Hemarnuael1:Download the app called Myinvestar and register. Please use SA-Emma as my referral code. You can also be in touch to get you to meet with my go-to person there in First Ally. First Ally is not related to First bank in any way, it's just their own brand name. If you are in Lagos and you wish to visit their physical office, it's at 287, Ajose Adeogun VI, very close to Zenith Bank headquarters. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Creditalerts: 11:51pm On Feb 12 |
emmasoft:@emmasoft the brain behind FirstAlly is one of the brain behind first bank ,I don't just invest I go deep to know more about the fund manager. Investors should consider the following factors: Regulation: Ensure the Mutual Fund is registered and authorized by the SEC. Transparency: Check for publicly available information and regular updates from the Fund Manager. Fund Manager’s Pedigree: Research the Fund Manager’s experience and accessibility. Returns: Determine if the expected returns (fixed or variable) align with your investment goals. Features: Understand the specific features of the Mutual Fund, such as income distribution frequency, to ensure they meet your needs. |

Gokoyer0:Is equity the one that shows YTD percentage on cowrywise? |
| Re: Mutual Funds by jurjes(f): 6:45am On Feb 13 |
Preator:Pls guide me on how to invest in equities on cowrywise. Many thanks |
| Re: Mutual Funds by IamtheDef: 8:56am On Feb 13 |
jurjes:Unfortunately cowrywise isn't what it used to be in terms of being able to decide for yourself what fund manager to choose. I'm not sure there's much guiding to do with the new update, they basically just choose for you by averaging the offers on their platform. |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Harddiskng(m): 9:15am On Feb 13 |
It is like Stanbic and gross underperformance are 5 & 6 now. Why on earth is their Equity fund doing 10% YTD ![]() People keeping money with Stanbic obviously have nothing better to do with it
