Why is jiji so expensive. Is anyone here making it from jiji premium? Outside of cars and property. I don't see why jiji is so expensive for online platform.

I subscribed for one of their packages but I am regretting wasting such money. I am not getting calls, no patronage, poor visibility. I have complained and complained to them but still the same. I was making sales through them last year without subscription

My advice is don't waste your money on them.

Left maybe 4 years ago now after I realised the money I was paying was only to get people who didn't buy anything crowding the so-called "feedback" with satanic comments. A random Nigerian will not focus on what they want to buy but trying to lecture a stranger how to be like every other person in a dying country.

It is only when you leave this country that you will realise how much of a failed country it is. The people's mindset is the cause of this failure. People think the way for life to work is for them to get everything they need for as close to free as possible while charging as much as they can get away with for what they have.

I have tried on nairaland here to draw attention to this matter of no proper online commerce space in Nigeria but no interest. I have recently formed a Facebook group Nigeria Trade by Barter so people can exchange what they have for what they need, since I can see the dread and hatred our people have to part with any money at all. Let's see how it goes. Economies only thrive when people are willing to pay for items at a fair price and also have goods and services to also sell. If everyone in America today produce everything and then nobody agrees to buy anything from anybody unless it us free, AMERICAN ECONOMY WILL ALSO COLLAPSE. it's not juju

Olx was a very good and vibrant platform. They only sell ads. But jiji killed it to introduce premium.

I have been looking for the exact olx scrip to build. My free platform.

The problem with Jiji is public trust. Personally, the possibility of me using the platform in less than zero. People dont trust them as many have been scammed in the market place in the past.

So, its better you sell on Jumia or Konga.

Jiji doesn’t offer any special services to their subscribers. They just post for you and charge you so much monthly unlike Jumia that talk to buyers and do the work.
What jiji is only good for is selling of cars.

I built https://alabamarket247.com.ng to curb this issue in Alaba International Market ONLY.

It’s workin fine for me and close friends. It has over 100+ registered users. (Not visitors).

I want to change the name to ALABA.NG to make it more premium but my friends using the platform said I should leave it as it is since they’re getting buyers.

I wanted to change it to .NG so as to add premium packages. Very low priced to say. Like 2k per month or something like that.

I built it on Wordpress.

NOTE: you’re not making sales on jiji cox you don’t know how to post in a way it will appear on Google. Jiji is just a platform with good SE rankings. If you optimized your posts well and pay for longer months, you’ll start making sales after the first few months. It takes long for a post to appear on Google. Organic buyers is better.

But if you’re posting on Jiji for the sake of just posting, you’ll be getting “Is this still available” messages from people that came into the app to look out items (window shopping).

Jiji didn’t work for my friend. He paid 360k+ 3 months plan and couldn’t make profit of money he paid 😏 . My last premium package didn’t bring me any sales. But it’s working for my boss. He makes sales from there. 😋


Should I change my domain to ALABA.NG while moving everything from the old site to the new one or I should leave it as it is?

Best is having your own company website and list your items. It builds more trust and confidence.

- You need to get better domain tld

- you need to add it on GSC. Index all posts.

- Buy expired domains and connect via 301 redirects, it will help them to rank better.

- when it ranks, buyers will come. Sellers will come.

Otherwise, use paid ads to promote it.

I got over 100+ users on my two classified ads site organically 🤝

Currently, YuuYuu space is currently indexed on google with an average search position of 3.6. And people are able to find us with a simple Google search of YuuYuu Space.

We will continue to evolve and get better.
