| Re: Mutual Funds by Preator: 9:29pm On Feb 16 |
Creditalerts:You wont believe the bad things serious investors dey do o. Maybe u sef dey do am. See ds Sodiq guy, had around 200 in Trustbanc (via cowrywise) on Jan 1 as capital. By February 2, e don swell reach 203+, na so the guy liquidate everything to stash, 10 minutes later he don reinvest am back. Now he go collect returns on extra 3m from Feb 3. Investment na serious business. Artificial monthly compounding. Note: this only works if u no need the money for the next 30days. Reinvestment starts another 30days lock |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Alaska90(m): 9:53pm On Feb 16 |
Creditalerts:OK THANKS |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Neurotika: 10:45pm On Feb 16 |
Preator:Not really a wise move. Unless liquidation and reinvestment are virtually instant, the idle days between both will wipe out any marginal compounding gain. The time out of market (even just two days) per cycle creates a cumulative drag that will erode your annual returns by roughly 7% annually, other things being equal. Your friend should be careful… |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Preator: 11:11pm On Feb 16 |
Neurotika:On Cowrywise, u can complete this in 15 minutes. And it doesn't pass through your bank statements also |
| Re: Mutual Funds by Neurotika: 11:52pm On Feb 16 |
Preator:Alright then… |

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria, established in 1979 and operating under the Investments and Securities Act, is the apex regulator of the Nigerian capital market. Its primary functions are to protect investors, maintain fair and efficient markets, and regulate market operators (such as stockbrokers, exchanges, and fund managers) to ensure market integrity. Key functions of the SEC in Nigeria include: Registration and Licensing: Assessing and registering capital market operators, exchanges, and securities to ensure they meet integrity and competency standards. Regulation and Surveillance: Monitoring exchanges and trading systems to detect and prevent unfair practices, such as insider trading. Investor Protection: Enforcing rules, such as mandatory disclosure, to ensure transparency in securities offerings and protecting investors from fraud. Enforcement: Investigating breaches of market regulations and taking action, including fines, bans, or suspensions of operators. Market Development: Promoting the growth of the capital market through the introduction of new products and services. The SEC is supervised by the Federal Ministry of Finance. |
