The ongoing rehabilitation of the Bauchi–Gombe road, supervised by Minister of Works David Umahi, covers a specific 35.4-kilometre section (often referred to as the Bauchi–Dindima road).

Progress: As of February 2026, over 21 kilometres of the 35.4-km stretch have been completed.
Scope: The project involves asphalt resurfacing, pavement strengthening, and drainage improvements, handled by Triacta Nigeria Limited.
Broader Project: This rehabilitation is part of the larger 420-kilometre dualisation project approved by the Federal Executive Council, which links Akwanga (Nasarawa State) through Plateau and Bauchi to Gombe State.
