That will reduce corruption and bribery at the airport |
| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by Thedon22: 1:04pm On Feb 18 |
This is one way to minimize corruption. Not by bullying people, and using army to beat and arrest . Tinubu knows how to diplomatically fight corruption without making noise not by way of noisemakers and old barbaric means. Tinubu did it in Lagos. Advantage of having a first class accountant as president instead of a 3r class philosophy graduate. |

Nice one. So that airport staff won't be begging me every eke market day. FAAN, tell your people to reduce begging. We are in Nigeria, not in Abegistan. Bikọ nú! |
| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by bigdammyj: 1:21pm On Feb 18 |
Noted. What will be the faith of the professional beggars (Airport Staffs) in the airport? |

Good one. I think every govt establishment including the police should follow suit. They should also paste it everywhere that you should report anyone demanding cash from you. It will reduce, not eliminate corruption small. Because I trust my people, they will still look for way around it. It will make it a little more difficult for them |
| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by dgitrader(m): 1:32pm On Feb 18 |
Trade by barter has been in operation since time immemorial. Those criminally entitled officials at the airport, who bribed millions in cash and in kind to be stationed there, must survive. They will station coded POS machines at every blind spot. Good move by the govt anyways. We are watching |

Thedon22:Is that why Lagos is considered the headquarters of Abegarians? |
| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by ezekins: 1:36pm On Feb 18 |
The same way electronic transmission of election results will reduce rigging |
| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by Ijaya123: 1:39pm On Feb 18 |
Thedon22:You can say that again and and again. ezekins: Peliman:We did in 2023 until some unscrupulous being started making several attempts to compromise the server. INEC had to shut it down to protects the election results. Can't you that's the reason all those that went to the election tribunal never for once claimed they won the election? That's because they could not find any evidence of irregularities. All they wanted was that the tribunal should order a rerun that would not include the actual winner, that Tinubu. All those shouting give us real-time electronic transmission now, we know their agenda. |

Will the payment be made to official accounts ? Bribe can be received via bank account - no questions asked. Lanrelagboi: |

How about Toll Gate, is it included What's the system out in place to avoid unnecessary bottleneck at the toll gate Currently, you need to park your vehicle to use card at the toll gate, no tap and go system |

| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by Mathewrichard99: 1:47pm On Feb 18 |
That's strictly for official transactions. Some of those FAAN people would still collect transfer and personal POS for egunje. I experienced it last year while travelling out when one FAAN guy that brought trolley for me to carry my loads insisted I should give him something. Told him I don't have cash but continue begging and begging, had to request for his account and transferred something to him.... You can only pay official price for anything official through e payment but egunje would still be cash or personal account transfer.... They should look into that also.... |

| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by Samogloby: 1:54pm On Feb 18 |
Cashless can work in all the airports for govt to make more money by blocking all the leakages and transmitting of election results cannot work, no be juju be dat |
| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by Thedon22: 1:57pm On Feb 18 |
DatNiggaDaz:Go and find out how it's done in America and developed countries. It's by use of technology and not cash. Cash transactions ia responsible for a high percentage of money corruption. Cash trails also make investigation easier for efcc if the transaction is electronically. It takes an accountant like Tinubu how to block corrupt practices without shouting anti-corruption. |
| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by SixSeven: 1:59pm On Feb 18 |
I hope rogue officials don't take their own pos devices or replace the government's own with their own. Put some controls and do regularly audits please FAAN... We should also purge corruption by teaching these officers ethos. I know it's not easy but let them have some sense of responsibility first to the nation before their pockets. |
| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by rapcy(m): 2:02pm On Feb 18 |
Thedon22:Honestly i have some agreement with what you said. I think stopping cash collection is good. They should also make the account details available so that we know it's going directly into government account |
| Re: FAAN Moves To Cashless Operations, Bans Physical Currency Transactions by McDoe(m): 2:20pm On Feb 18 |
Nice move. Curbing corruption must be matched with physical actions such as this. Thumbs up? |
