If all previous govts were this good with just road construction in Nigeria, we wouldn't be making a big deal out of it. The sad reality is that most of the previous govts dropped the ball when it comes to the transportation network. Without a proper transportation network, your economy is stuck in reverse. One of the things that makes the US and other developed countries great is the ability to move people and goods easily. Now we need the govt to be laser-focused on electricity as the next major challenge by next year. Maybe the President should move Eng. Umahi to power after the election. |

seanery:Ekiti has huge agric potential that can significantly boost the economy of the state but the bad network of roads, poor electricity access and total lack of govt assistance in most parts is what is crippling the state. Imagine 50,000 small scale industrial farm holdings all active in the state with access to good roads, electricity ,security, primary health care, then watch the whole place transformed immediately |

AngelGabbyShara:“Mr President has also directed and approved reconstruction of Aramoko-Ijero-Ido road, as well as Omuo – Ikole –Ifaki road, very soon, I know that work is ongoing in ensuring that we are linked to Osogbo rail line so, when you cumulate all these things, he has done well for us. But, unfortunately, we still have some of our children, maybe because of ignorance or what they will eat, their actions still portray Ekiti as ungrateful people. We need to caution such people. I am not against politics but they shouldn’t play politics with facts.” |

YesDaddyTill203:Nigeria does not have the money to achieve 24hrs electricity yet even if they want to. Using the current Nigeria national budget, that is if you are to divert all the budget to electricity, it will still take about 8 to 10 years accumulation to get the amount that might give us 24hrs electricity |

Power sector has been liberalised. A State, Local Government, Corporate Bodies, Institutions especially Higher Institution of Learning and individuals can obtain license to generate and distribute power. Stop drawing us back with unnecessary argument on the issue of power. With information available, Obafemi Awolowo University and University of Ibadan may soon detach from the National Grid. Oyo State muted that idea for the State Secretariat Area covering Agodi GRA and some neighbouring community but I don't know what the Governor has done about this. Lekan239: |
