Do Banks Sell These Mint Notes To POS Merchants? by obembet(op): 4:54pm On Feb 18
I’ve noticed that almost all the POS merchants in my area always have mint ₦200, ₦500, and even ₦100 notes. Yet, I’ve tried several times to get mint notes myself, especially for important occasions, but they’re nowhere to be found.

Now, POS merchants are charging as much as 35% of your money just to give you mint notes.

Imagine paying ₦20,000 just to get ₦50,000 in mint ₦200 notes.

Why is this currency so easily available to POS merchants but so difficult for ordinary Nigerians to access?

Yes but it’s unofficial… if you have a banker that’s working in the bulk room frequently, he/she can be paying you with mint depending if the branch manager has no interest in it …

Yes cause bank won't dispense mint on a regular day. The charges is outrageous though. Max interest on 20k mint of 200 naira denomination is 4k or 5k directly from bank though.

It can change only when leaders ruse up to their responsibilities.

if you have account with Jaiz Bank, all you need to do is fill the withdrawal slip and tell them you want mint, they will give you. Islamic Banks don't sell local currency be it mint or not because it's Haram.
