Young Woman Reportedly Dies By Suicide In Lagos, Leaves Note Revealing Emotional, Financial Struggles | Sahara ReportersSource A Nigerian woman has reportedly died by suicide in the Ogba area of Lagos, leaving behind a heartbreaking handwritten note that has left family, friends and neighbours in deep shock and sorrow. The woman, identified as Bola, was said to be a staff member at Wado Credit & Co. According to reports, she had been struggling with serious personal and financial challenges before her death. Those who knew her described her as calm, hardworking and private, which has made the news even more difficult for many people to accept. Sources in the area said the incident happened at her residence in Ogba. She was later found unresponsive after allegedly taking a poisonous substance. Emergency efforts to save her life were not successful. Authorities are said to be investigating the matter to understand what led to the tragic decision. What has deeply touched many people is the note she reportedly left behind. In the handwritten message, Bola is said to have expressed feelings of failure, deep emotional pain and fear about her future. Though the full contents of the note have not been officially made public, those who saw it said it showed how overwhelmed she felt by her situation. Colleagues revealed that in recent weeks she appeared withdrawn and unusually quiet, though she continued reporting to work. Some said she rarely spoke about her problems and often kept her struggles to herself. Neighbours also said she mostly stayed indoors and avoided long conversations, something they did not think much about at the time. https://sportifypost.com.ng/2026/02/18/rip-beautiful-nigerian-lady-commits-suicide-over-financial-issues-leaves-heartbreaking-note

Assuming they sell sniper 500k naira and only obtainable from government outlets , suicides through that means will reduce drastically For those quoting me, who made the young girl fear for her future ? According to Yarimo “it’s obi and ADC that kept Nigerians this way “ |

I believe her family and neighbours caused her death. Too much hate speech, gossips and family hating on your financial incapabilities can make one run out of the community. I am far away and healing. |

People around a depressed fellow wont accept she is depressed. I have up to like 10 people in my dm demanding for money and 4 demanding for data but i overlooked their request cos am tired of everyday request...God forbid one of them ending it. Life is for the fittest and not for those who giveup. |

yarimo:I should be telling you that… was it not your Tinubu that brought the misery that poor Nigerian youths are experiencing ? Or is it obi that kept the youths jobless and made the country worse for Nigerians that they assume suicide is the best way out ? You should be ashamed of yourself for even trying to quote me… |

Whenever I say Agbadorians are the biggest casualties in this Bulaba economy, they will think I'm blabbing. Even the ones who come here on nairaland to defend the wuru-wuru government with cheap "free basics" data are very hungry people. Rip to the dead. ![]() |

Year 2023,I was faced with the most severe financial scarcity aka Sapa in my life, I was so down and depressed, literally breaking apart from within, but I maintained my outward composure and everlasting steeze, no body knew what was wrong with me, I couldn't ask for help neither could I talked to anyone about it. While these was going on, I was in final year preparing for exams and writing my project, guys, I honestly considered suîcide, I was so broke there were days I don't even have pure water to drink for more than 24 hours, couldn't afford soap and toothpaste, I was just existing, but I kept showing up everyday, still made people around me laughed and comforted, because that's naturally who I am. One conviction I had was that, I would not take my own life,if na hunger kpai me that's fine, but say I commit suîcide, never It was a crazy experience I would never wish in my enemies, in that moment I figured I wouldn't really blame anyone that can't endure and decided to end it all. Alhamdullilah today, I am still in my recovery phase, but things are way better than then and the future looks bright for me 😎😎😎 If you read to this part and you are currently facing financial scarcity, dépression, etc.. please don't end it, hang on a little bit, the universe is preparing you for something big, stay strong and have faith As fr the young lady, may your soul rest in peace |

Ladies out there please understand that being in a family of your own is way better than being a career independent lady. Right now it is not easy for men, not to talk of single independent ladies. Also this idea of getting apartments and staying alone as a single lady is not the best. If it has to be done, it should be temporary not a fulltime lifestyle. The poor lady was staying alone and going through alot, being in a family home or with siblings could have been better. |

Gadafii:Like I always tell people everyone has the tendency of being suicidal. There is nothing like “God forbid” or “it can never be me” it is either you are in deep in thought or you are just pretending that everything is fine . |

No matter what,no situation warrants suicide. I'm very sure she regretted her action at the last minute when it dawned on her that death is imminent, coupled with all the pain her body will experienced when the poison took effect. |

Gadafii:You scaled through because things became better. There are those who have been in poverty for years struggling without any freedom in sight despite their efforts. At that point, it is very easy to commit suicide. To me, even suicide is better than the depression leading to mental illness. My own brother fell into heavy depression which has affected him and he has been misbehaving for sometime despite the money, time and effort been spent. In suicide, the family feel the pain and loss instantly and move on within a year. With mental illness, you feel the pain and stress every blessed day the person is still alive with the stigma that comes with it. Yesterday, i was called by my dad to come home (another town) because he is misbehaving. I got there and someone who always respect me even if he disrespects others was very aggressive against me and disrespected me. I called Aro, they said 350k per month Edijalo Mental home said 500k per month. Can you compare the financial wastage and stress with stigma to suicide? |

Skit right? Meanwhile women never know wetin men dey pass through to be bread winners until they take on that responsibility. This same person that can not take care of her own needs, only her o probably, has to kpai herself. But same person will ridicule, disrespect, belittle, unappreciate and commonise the effort of a male to provide for her and her children. RIP Lucifer, may other female learn from her. |
