NFF will not listen to them. I doubt if they will ever appoint any local coach for the Super Eagles again. Who among them is even qualified at this stage? Is it Siasia, who ain't coached any team in over 10 years? Or Amuneke, who relegated Heartland and is still not getting it right in the NNL? Or Finidi, after the last disaster? Eguavoen? Oliseh? Never.
When it comes to the NFF, I would advice you tone down your expectations because they'll always find a way to display their incompetence. Those people don't want the best for our football, so I won't be surprised if they repeat the same stupid actions that put us in this mess in the first place.

Nigerians are cursed. Seriously cursed with the spirit of self sabotage.

The same so called O.A.Ps, fake sports journalists and ex internationals that asked for the sack of Gernot Rohr few weeks to an AFCON and for Peseiro to be let go despite taking us to an AFCON final are now asking for Eric Chelle to be let go because according to them, his "demands" are too much (Same thing they said about Peseiro).

Ask them for a possible replacement and you'll hear them bring up local coaches. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

How did I find myself in the same country as these self harming idiots? We're not ready for any form of progress in this country. At this rate, our football will continue to be like our epileptic power supply. Tueh 🤮

How Nigeria chooses to organize its friendlies is not your BUSINESS and doesn't mean the case is not there. International friendlies are a normal part of football development for every country, period.

[quote author=Damioduso1 post=138523117]Latest Update 📌

The Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa today (Thursday 19th of February), where he briefed him on the FIFA World Cup verdict involving Nigeria 🇳🇬 and DR Congo 🇨🇩.

He disclosed that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had submitted a formal complaint to FIFA over alleged breaches of rules and regulations in the World Cup qualification process.

“The relevant bodies in FIFA are dealing with it. We are confident we have a good case, but we have already put the World Cup behind us. Whatever happens, it is what it is,” he said.

Dikko clarified that independent committees within FIFA would determine the outcome based on established regulations. He added that the matter is being handled by FIFA’s independent disciplinary and ethics committees, not the FIFA Executive Committee itself.

He explained that Nigeria and the NFF had documented several breaches of FIFA rules and regulations even before the playoff matches and formally submitted the complaints to the world football governing body.

“We discovered some breaches here and there. Even before we played the playoffs, we had noticed them, documented them, and submitted them to FIFA. So, both the NFF and ourselves submitted what we believed were breaches of the rules and regulations, which are part of the sport. It’s not about being sore losers; it’s simply what it is,” the NSC boss said.

FIFA has releases annual report without reference to Nigeria’s petition against DR Congo

I don't think FIFA are looking into this Nff petition base on this FIFA annual report news

Surrounding yourself with yes-men is one of the most dangerous decisions any ambitious person can make. Such individuals will watch you undermine your own career and reputation while applauding every move. When the consequences finally arrive, they are often the first to mock the very downfall they silently enabled. Honest counsel, even when uncomfortable, is far more valuable than blind agreement.
Anyone who watched Victor Osimhen Victor Osimhen during his time at Napoli Napoli could see he possessed the trajectory to become one of Africa’s greatest footballers. After the Napoli controversy, genuine well-wishers reportedly encouraged a move to Chelsea Chelsea FC or another elite European side, while less objective voices supported a transfer to Galatasaray Galatasaray without fully acknowledging the long-term implications. At the highest level of professional football, league visibility significantly affects global recognition. Competing outside Europe’s top leagues can limit Ballon d’Or consideration, global media coverage, and major individual awards regardless of goal tallies or domestic titles.
From a purely strategic standpoint, a player of Osimhen’s caliber should prioritize competitive platforms that maximize exposure, prestige, and legacy — even if that means accepting a lower salary in the short term. Financial gains can often be recouped later through endorsements, elite transfers, or late-career contracts in lucrative leagues. History shows that players such as Erling Haaland Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé Kylian Mbappe, or Harry Kane Harry Kane have consistently chosen highly competitive environments during their primes to strengthen both legacy and recognition.
Finally, professionalism off the pitch matters as much as performance on it. If there were tensions with Finidi George Finidi George, a private apology would demonstrate maturity, accountability, and leadership — qualities that elevate a great player into a respected icon.
In elite sport, talent opens the door, but wise decisions determine how far one walks through it.

FIFA RELEASED STATEMENT AS NIGERIA, DR CONGO EXPECT RULING ON 2026 WORLD CUP PETITION.

FIFA has released its 2025 CAS & Football Annual Report without mentioning Nigeria’s petition against DR Congo.

The Nigeria Football Federation' (NFF) filed a petition to FIFA alleging DR Congo used ineligible players during their World Cup playoff against Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Super Eagles are still waiting on a ruling that could reopen their 2026 World Cup path.

The World football’s governing body, FIFA, has published its CAS & Football Annual Report 2025 at a time when Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo are anxiously awaiting a ruling on the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) petition over alleged use of ineligible players in the African play-offs for the 2026 World Cup.

In the report, FIFA made no reference to Nigeria’s protest, which was filed on December 15, 2025, following the Super Eagles’ dramatic penalty shootout defeat to DR Congo in Rabat last November.

The omission of the case from FIFA’s latest publication has sparked fresh debate, especially after expectations had risen that a decision could be announced around mid-February following a scheduled Ethics Committee meeting.

Reports suggested a conclusion may already have been reached internally, but only FIFA’s Executive Committee, chaired by Gianni Infantino, is authorised to make any formal announcement.

Nigeria’s protest centres on claims that DR Congo fielded several players who allegedly did not meet eligibility requirements under their country’s domestic laws.
Among the names referenced were Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Axel Tuanzebe, both of whom previously represented England at youth levels before switching international allegiance.

According to BBC Sports, the NFF argues that the clearance process for these players contained irregularities and that DR Congo may have submitted incomplete documentation when seeking approval for their participation. On this basis, Nigeria asked FIFA to disqualify DR Congo and reinstate the Super Eagles as Africa’s representatives in the Intercontinental Playoff tournament scheduled to take place in Mexico next month.

DR Congo, however, has consistently rejected Nigeria’s claims, maintaining that FIFA’s rules on sporting nationality, rather than domestic citizenship laws, govern player eligibility.
This legal grey area has helped turn the dispute into one of the most closely watched cases in African football. Instead of addressing the Nigeria vs DR Congo dispute, FIFA’s newly released document focused on the broader role of football in global sports arbitration.

According to a statement published on FIFA’s official website, 77 per cent of all cases registered with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in 2025 involved football-related matters. The report outlines how CAS continues to serve as the main independent body for reviewing appeals against FIFA decisions, in line with Article 49 of the FIFA Statutes.

It also provides summaries of key case law from both CAS and the Swiss Federal Tribunal, drawn from FIFA’s quarterly legal updates.

After listening to Shehu Dikko’s interview, it’s obvious the DR Congo issue is far more complicated than many of us thought. FIFA’s careful handling shows how serious the situation really is. This isn’t just a typical football dispute it’s a major case with significant implications.

Victor Osimhen opens up about one of the most painful moments of his life:

“When I signed with Lille, my father’s health took a severe turn for the worse. I was constantly far away from him. Then, at the start of COVID, he was hospitalized. I was alone in France. Football was at a standstill, airports closed.

I kept calling my agent nonstop to arrange a private flight to Nigeria. I had even secured landing clearance. All that was left was the club’s and my agent’s approval to let me go.

I waited… again and again.
And his condition worsened.

I started to panic. I called every hour, I begged. But that’s when I understood the dark side of football, the business. They wanted to sell me. A transfer was in the works. My former agent kept repeating: ‘It’s complicated. Wait.’

I was going crazy. I couldn’t sleep anymore. One morning, coming out of the shower, I looked at a photo of my mother on my bedside table. I felt something was wrong. I started to cry.

Downstairs, I had 20 missed calls from my family. I called my brother on FaceTime. He said: ‘We lost him.’ Then he turned the camera toward my father. ‘You have to say goodbye to him…’

I threw my phone. I lost control. I smashed everything in the house. My neighbors came to check on me. In France, they were like family to me. One of them stayed with me for 6 or 7 hours that day… He probably kept me from making a huge mistake.

What destroyed me the most was the guilt. All my father’s children and grandchildren were by his side.

The only one who wasn’t there… was me.

I was angry. I exploded. I told myself: ‘If football is like this… what’s the point? I just want to be with my family.’

I called my former agent to ask if I could go bury my father. He replied: ‘Go ahead. But come back Friday.’

Friday? Football could go to hell.

When I got home, I really thought I might never play football again. I was disgusted by everything.

People often say: ‘I’ve seen it all.’ But they don’t understand what that really means.

I’m not just talking about growing up next to a landfill.
I’m not just talking about growing up without electricity.

I’m talking about loss. Real loss.
And that… that’s something very deep.”

And he just lost his mother. One of football's most resilient figures

Honestly, I wouldn’t care much if FIFA’s verdict ended up favoring Nigeria—even though that’s very unlikely—because Nigeria has an African coach, unlike Congo, which has a European coach. I’ve always supported African teams with Black coaches or home-based players before anything else.

For every angle I watch of the Vinicius racist allegation, I feel ashamed and disgusted.

He's the one of the worst representation of a black man. And I hate the fact that this is the figure head of the fight against something as serious as racism.

And then enter Mbappé. The captain of the most black-dominated football squad outside Africa. Even more blacks than Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria put together.

He sees his teammate get called monkey 5 times and can't confront the accused. Video evidence doesn't support him. And worst off, he turns a paper tiger only after the end of the match.

And then, Henry goes on live TV to ask "why cover his mouth" something that every player from Messi, Ronaldo to even Vinicius in the same match do.

And then, white reporters, journalists, managers and pundits come all out in a manner so overly sentimental that it looks less like kick against racism and more like protecting a lesser species.

Sympathy for the lesser species.

The irony of watching Guardiola criticize racism. A man who didn't field blacks till Doku. A man who nearly pissed his pants out of fear when a black fan chased him for a picture.

Nothing I hate more than sympathy from the white man.
Vinicius just undermines the real victims like Balotelli, Moise Kean, Dani Alves, Henry and Everton Luiz who cried like a baby.
