Tinubu is working, the dollar is now ₦1,300.

I went to exchange dollars today and, to my surprise, it was going for ₦1,300. Big shout out to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It shows that this government is up to something.” — Daddy Freeze

Daddy Freeze who talks like a 16-year old? A full-grown man who talks so petty and childish online? This is an adult kid. He shouldn't be involved in useful discussions unless it's religion that's being discussed.
Re: Nigeria Needs a Steady Naira Not Just A Strong One - Daddy Freeze by Ofunaofu: 10:03pm On Feb 20
True, he is working to reduce the dollar-to-naira exchange rate from nearly N2000 to a dollar, where it had risen under his leadership to about N1300, where it currently stands.

Essentially, Daddy Freeze is comparing Tinubu’s worst period in office to his less-worst one.

We wouldn’t dare compare Tinubu’s regime with Jonathan’s or Buhari’s, that would be like comparing light and darkness. And everyone knows which side Tinubu represents.... Darkness

Fixing the currency at a particular rate using billions of dollars every week is no longer sustainable, Mumu ,as the government before Tinubu found it difficult to pay workers salaries and engage in infrastructure developments. What we have now is manage floating....

..and you are unaware we spent about $388billion to subsidise exchange rate from OBJ led govt to Buhari's? Is that what you want us to continue with?Do you know fPMB resorted to selling crude oil in advance to pay fuel subsidy and subsidise dollar? Tinubu has done so well in this regard

What I'm asking is this. But why are the prices of commodities not falling in tandem with the dollar. December, two years ago, dollar was over 1700, cement was sold at 7k plus. Today dollar dey 1300 plus, yet cement as at today is 11200. And just around December it was sold for 9600 even when dollar was around 1460 or so at the time.
Bought 47k per coil same December at 1460 exchange and today same wire is 59k with exchange rate dropping massively.

This is same with other commodities mind you.

You can't support individuals and entities like Buhari, Tinubu and APC without sounding stvpeed

Daddy freeze dey celebrate dollar at 1300 naira, meanwhile the dollar was way below 1k under the calamitous Buhari, noting that these people hounded Jonathan out by saying dollar @ 240 naira was unacceptable

Until the dollar is below 150 to naira, tinubu and APC will remain the most dangerous political party and politician in the history of humanity and they shouldn't have been allowed to given even the animal kingdom

Criticize constructively, don't abuse/ curse all the time. Everyone must not vote for your Messiah (Obi).
It's very annoying to see comments like this from Obi supporters but say any negative thing about Obi or his supporters, the mod will delete your comments and ban you

Some of our Companies who do accept payment in dollars are now rejecting dollar payments. It making them to lose significant portion of the value when converting to Naira.
Re: Nigeria Needs a Steady Naira Not Just A Strong One - Daddy Freeze by iichidodo: 6:05am On Feb 21
Inflation is still in the high side, the populace have become poorer... Then you have the trend of politicians exchanging their cumulative dollar loot of the past 4 years into naira to run their campaigns. And as more politicians do so, as more folks and speculators get poorer thus reducing the drive to buy dollars as an inflationary hedge. This means Fewer Naira will chase the Dollar, until election is over, the looting begins and there's a mad dash to exchange such loot to dollars to preserve the loot's value ...We are talking about trillions of NAIRA. So expect all these to reverse after the election..

Is it Tinubu 's policies that caused the Naira to become stronger? ....or is it because the dollar is becoming weaker?

Re: Nigeria Needs a Steady Naira Not Just A Strong One - Daddy Freeze by Xanderone: 6:14am On Feb 21
2023 - Tinibu is doing nothing as the naira is weakening. Nigeria needs a STRONG naira

2025 - Boom! Naira is strengthening due to novel & effective economic policies.

2026 - Nigeria needs a STEADY naira. Not a strong one.

Tulumbu right now 👇🏾

I used to respect him until I realized he talks exactly as described by you.
He never stands firm for anything.
He claims to be a Pastor sent to Free the sleepless, he uses the Bible as his reference manual, yet he condemns those who brought such to Africa. What an Irony!.
I'm utterly disappointed in him.

IF you want to be whatever, make sure you stand by such firmly and defend such.
He is a typical example of someone who would lead people to a battlefront only to chicken out to watch the people die from afar

Na where the issue dey be that. Those are some of the evils of capitalism.

Recall weeks ago that farmers and traders were dejected that prices were coming down because the are making less money.

Those that hoarded rice they bought at 85k one year ago hoping that the price will still hit a new 100k high in 2026 are bleeding massively right now.

Those that has USD dominated asset are also getting worried. I personally am in this category. My last USD savings was bought at 970 naira. So by the time it falls to 1000k before year-end as OteDollar projects, it's either I stoic ally count my losses, keep my investment and just look away or just consider selling off, perhaps converting to non-financial assets.

Despite diesel prices coming down and petrol coming down around December, transport prices remained high. And when you challenge transporters they change from "petrol is expensive" narrative to "spare parts are expensive" rhetoric.

Again I say, the EVIL of capitalism where every man aims at fleecing off the other.

As Otedollar or Dongote dey do their own to squeeze that money outta me, I should find a place to pass that burden to. Sadly it is to clients.
