Because churches are run by humans, and while they may preach that they have overcome their flesh, it's a normal human nature to prioritize the well-being of the golden goose whose paycheck buys the musical instruments, funds the crusades and ocassionally sow seeds with which pastor imports Italian suits.

But we know the kind of church that the apostles pastored after Christ's commission - we don't have those anymore.

WHAT YOU CALL CELEBRATION IS JUST RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION TO PREVENT SLUMBER OF THE RICH BECAUSE THE POOR AIN'T GET NOTHING BUT ONLY MOUTH TO PRAY. MAY GOD BLESS US ALL IN PURITY RIGHTEOUSNESS AND SOVEREIGNTY AND IJN AMEN.

Because you people are not Christians Jesus commanded his REAL disciples:

“Stop storing up for yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal. Rather, store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21

“No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. You cannot slave for God and for Riches." Matthew 6:24

So in a religious gathering where riches is celebrated do you think those involved are followers of the man whose words are quoted above?

Jesus said:

"You are my friends if you do what I am commanding you" John 15:14

Of course any religious gathering where people are doing otherwise should be called "ANTICHRIST"

Young children, it is the last hour, and just as you have heard that the ANTICHRIST is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared, from which fact we know that it is the last hour. 1John 2:18

The poor can't rule the church!..

No scriptural backing, but I know this is true!

That is what Jesus meant when he said:

"By their fruits"

So they don't belong to Jesus because the man called Jesus in the Bible was not rich neither his Apostles.

In James 2:1-9, the Bible condemns showing favoritism based on wealth, describing a scenario where a rich person in fine clothing and gold rings is given a seat of honor, while a poor person in shabby clothes is told to stand or sit on the floor. James calls this partiality, or discrimination, a sin.
Re: Why Do We Celebrate The Rich More Than The Poor In Some Churches? by franchasng: 9:21am On Feb 23
There is no dignity in poverty.

There is nowhere on earth that the poor are celebrated.

Poverty is not a good or dignifying status that anyone or any organization or association should celebrate, instead one should work hard, pray more and apply more wisdom and smartness to avoid being poor.

You can be sufficient and not poor nor rich.

Middle-class people are not poor and they are not also rich.

lordm:

learn to talk in context of the topic. first of all youre not going to church to learn how to be a good person....there are some good people that are not even yet born again...you go to church to meet with God and strengthen the brethen and yourself also

now lets address the elephant in the room. churches who celebrate the richer people(which is very wrong by the way) do so because they help out with countributions when the church needs it the most...those churches have made money theyre god and have become centers for money laundring...kindly note that there are still genuine churches who dont make some people feel less important than richer people..there are still genuine churches around..lets stop taking the folly of a few churches and rope everybody into the same category.

when you hear preachers like korede komaiya say "i can never follow a poor pastor" these are the kinds that bring more negative scrutiny to the body of christ.
Re: Why Do We Celebrate The Rich More Than The Poor In Some Churches? by DrAda(f): 9:23am On Feb 23
Human nature I guess. Rich equals prosperity, abundance, God's Promise, Heaven while Poor is synonymous with hunger, strife, death, devil's promise, hell.

We all instinctively discriminate between the rich and the poor. That of the church is only more noticeable because it occurs in an enclosed space. It's sad but that has been the way of things since the days of old and will be tough to get rid of.

A tidbit from Chatgpt when I enquired:

1. WEALTH SEEN AS GOD'S BLESSING
Abraham

- Genesis 13:2 – Abraham was “very rich in livestock, silver, and gold.”

- His wealth was presented as part of God’s covenant blessing.

- Prosperity = evidence of divine favour.

Solomon

- 1 Kings 10:23 – Solomon surpassed all kings in riches and wisdom.

- His wealth symbolised God’s promise fulfilled to David.

- Prosperity was seen as a sign of divine approval.

Job (before his suffering)

- Job 1:3 – Described as the greatest man of the East, wealthy and blessed.

- Wealth was interpreted as proof of righteousness.

2. POVERTY SEEN AS A CURSE OR DIVINE DISPLEASURE

- Deuteronomy 28 – Obedience brings prosperity; disobedience brings poverty and suffering.

- This shaped Israel’s worldview: poverty often assumed to be a punishment.

Job (during suffering)

- Job’s friends assumed his suffering meant hidden sin.

- Poverty and loss were equated with divine judgement.

- This is one of the clearest examples of moral discrimination based on material state.

Lazarus

- In the parable (Luke 16:19–31), the rich man lived in luxury while Lazarus suffered.

- Socially, the rich man would have been assumed blessed.

- Jesus reverses the assumption: Lazarus is comforted; the rich man is tormented.

- This parable directly challenges the idea that riches equal heaven.

3. EXPLICIT CONDEMNATION OF DISCRIMINATION
James

- James 2:1–4 : If a rich man enters and you give him special seating, but tell the poor man to stand — you have become judges with evil thoughts.

- This is direct rebuke of church-based class bias.

- It shows the instinct to honour wealth was already present in early Christianity.

4. PROVERBS REFLECTING SOCIAL REALITY

- The book of Proverbs often observes (not necessarily endorses) the social pattern:

- Proverbs 14:20 – “The poor is hated even by his neighbour, but the rich has many friends.”

- Proverbs 19:4 – “Wealth attracts many friends.”

- Proverbs 22:7 – “The rich rule over the poor.”

- These verses describe the reality of social discrimination.

5. JESUS CONFRONTING WEALTH ASSUMPTIONS
Jesus

- Matthew 19:23–24 – “It is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.”

- Luke 6:20–24 – “Blessed are you who are poor… Woe to you who are rich.”

- This was radically countercultural in a society that equated prosperity with God’s favour.

It's not a church thing. It's a societal thing. The church exists in a society, so things like that should be normal.

It's not only in the church, but also everywhere, it is human nature. Proverbs 19>6-7 mirrored it
