INCANTATION TRANSLATION

There is virtue in valor,

That enables domestic pigs to multiply unmolested.

IFA TEACHING

These are the names of the Awos who made divination for Oyeku Meji. They advised him to make sacrifice so that he might multiply.

He was told to make sacrifice with the meats of bush pig and domestic pigs, guinea fowl and two sheep so that his kindred might multiply. He made the sacrifice.

The priests prepared one of the sheep with medicines, adding the appropriate leaves and the Iyerosun of Oyeku Meji.

Thereafter, they took the sheep to the foot of the palm tree, where it was bathed with the prepared leaves of Oyekua Meji himself was also told to have his bath with the leaves at the foot of the same palm tree.

It was a young palm tree which had just started growing. After the bath, the pot and its contents was turned mouth downwards to cover the young palm tree.

The young palm tree was expected to cast the pot aside as it grew.

That is how Oyeku-Meji flourished after casting aside the hat of poverty at the foot of the palm tree.

That Is why the children of Oyeku-Meji are not supposed to wear hats on their heads.

Oyeku Meji then brought home the bathed sheep. The second sheep and the remaining animals / meat were prepared and burled on the floor of his house.

That was how Oyeku-Meji's head became strong. He left the sheep to wander about in the town while taking good care of it.

As the sheep gradually began to multiply, Oyeku-Meji also began to multiply. He had several wives and children.

When Oyeku-Meji comes out during an initiation at Ugbodu the person should be told that his head is not strong. He should therefore be taken to a road Junction by a knowledgeable IFA Priest who knows the appropriate Ono Ifa (Odiha) with a cock, 3-plece kolanut and dried palm leaves and bathed there.

He should also be told that he is a fay and that he was to be washed by Awos at a road Junction.

If he is at able to make the sacrifice he will flourish on earth. He should be advised to start life with the rearing of sheep or pigs which would develop Into wider dimensions.

He even change the products he was selling but still his business collapsed. He was advised to visit Iwori a renowned Awo.

On getting to Iwori to enquire of IFA the solution to his problem, Iwori told him to give IFA 1 naira. Back then 1 naira was huge amount of money. Alabi became upset and left angrily and he did not enquire IFA because he thought Iwori was fake and wanted to exploit him.

Later, Alabi changed from his trading business and became a fisher man because fishing business at that time was booming.

When his old colleagues from his trading business asked him why he changed his line of business from trading to fishing, he told them Iwori was a greedy, selfish, fake Awo and that he was successful in his new business "fishing" without the help of an Awo.

Alabi kept on telling everyone he met the same story of Iwori and his success in his new fishing business until Esu heard it.

When Alabi was in his boat to check his fishing net, Esu caused Alabi boat to sink. As Alabi tried to swim, Esu caused Alabi fishing net to catch Alabi and drowned him. Alabi died before divers could rescue him and Esu cause the fishes to feed on Alabi copse.

He was brought out of the water by divers, the news got to his family, friends and loved ones. On the day of Alabi burial, Esu cause Alabi whole family to have accident and they all died.

It was such a big tragedy for Alabi family and for the community. The death of Alabi family on Alabi burial day caused questions to be asked by people and elders of the community.

IFA was consulted and they were told Alabi brought the wrath of Esu upon himself and his family and Esu should be serve with one black he-goat, 1 naira, yam with red oil inside native pot. Ebo was offered to Esu as prescribed by IFA and the death in Alabi family stopped.

NOTE ~ Ignorance is not an excuse in African Tradition Religion. Be careful what you bring to yourself and family for many have brought deaths, sickness, disease, misfortunes, curse... etc upon themselves and families unknowingly.
