Mikano refutes claims of being owned by Atiku
July 25, 2022

Nigeria’s former Vice President and current presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, is not the owner of Mikano International Limited, the management of the firm announced on Sunday.

It disclosed this in a statement signed by its Managing Director, Firas Mamlouk, as it denied reports that the generator firm was owned or affiliated to the former vice president.

Various social media posts had claimed that Abubakar was the owner of Mikano International Limited, a Nigeria-based company that was established in 1993 and deals with power generation, steel fabrication, electrical products, and solutions.

Reacting to the claims on Sunday, the firm said, “The attention of the management of Mikano International Limited, promoters of Mikano Generators (among other products), has been drawn to numerous articles and press statements stating that the company is owned by/afflliated with Atiku Abubakar, GCON.

“This disclaimer is a notice to the general public that the news does not represent the true facts as it concerns Mikano International Limited.”

“Please be informed that Mikano International Limited is not owned, affiliated, associated, authorised, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Atiku Abubakar, GCON. Members of the public are therefore advised to disregard the news.”

Very ironic that the same people u despised just a few years ago i.e. Atiku & El Rufai, today bitterness has turned u into an advocate & defender of those same corrupt people, & their practices.

Chai, what a pity indeed.

You have made a strong point. Even Sowore is old in the system with his outdated yabbish tactics. Opposition with no inspiration, no strategy, no innovation, using the same outdated and barbaric tactics to ouster a more cerebral ruling party. I think we should be talking of who take over from Tinubu in 2031.
brain54:
I agree with atiku 💯...

But added to that is that opposition is shrinking. The opposition hasn't done a good job so far

I think part of the reason is that most of the opposition is old and and tired. No new or fresh ideas.

Opposition in Nigeria right now needs a breath of fresh air and renewed ginger... I don't believe the present one is capable of doing that.

It's really looking like tibunu would have a field day at the next elections.

The future looks very bleak for Nigeria... democracy is been seized by its balls!

You won't benefit from the winner more than me... You won't escape his failure more than me

Election is not about wining or losing its about presenting and voting for an alternative

If election is held today and obi gets one vote probably me and it was free and fair who cares
Re: FCT Election: Democracy Under Siege, Tinubu’s Tight Grip Suffocating – Atiku by Jonjam269: 9:09am On Feb 23
Both Atiku—the so-called “Dubai landlord”—and Peter Obi, a serial party defector, lack the ideological conviction and intellectual depth needed to govern a complex nation like Nigeria.
They brand themselves as reformers and champions of democracy, yet their track records tell a very different story. In reality, the one thing that binds them together is a legacy of failure.

So now the argument has evolved, it’s no longer that Tinubu rigged the election results. Apparently, his crime this time is masterminding a grand, invisible lockdown that prevented all the devoted voters of the ADC from stepping outside.

It’s okay… we’re getting somewhere. grin
Voter Apathy is a strong strategy for the ruling party, as it makes it easier for them to just bring their members out and declare themselves winners in areas where they don't even have any reasonable votes

Saturday was just like any other day in Abuja here, people went about their businesses as if nothing is even happening, infact at one point I needed to start asking if the election was postponed

Many Nigerians don't even want to have anything to do with the country anymore and it's totally bad

Dem neva see anything yet by 2027 bro Tinubu go get more than 14million votes e go choke dem already on our registe we have gathered over 12.7m while losers are busy barking on social media.

Re: FCT Election: Democracy Under Siege, Tinubu’s Tight Grip Suffocating – Atiku by epainos: 9:15am On Feb 23
All odds are against Atiku in my opinion. He couldn't win before Tinubu became the president, and he wants to win now. I laugh in Swahili. He needs to ask Bode George who Tinubu is. Lol. Obi is even better positioned in my view.

And for the fact that Tinubu has managed to pull the US to his side, Atiku should forget it as long as the Republicans are on the throne.

As for me, improvement in the electoral laws is what I am after. We just should find a way to make the senate provide a dedicated server for direct and real time transmitting and votes (without glitches....we have the money to do it, but they wont easily until we press their necks very well). And also sentence electoral criminals to a minimum of 10 years.

We may not achieve everything like I wrote in my previous post during this Tinubu's era, but the win we have already is a progress. Let's see if the opposition can use this Abuja issue to make the senators return to the house to add more clauses that favor the common man who wants free and fair elections. The more favorable clauses we can add now, the closer we are getting to liberation. So, I really don't care who wins the next election....I just want the process fixed...and we are getting there gradually. Every election we have been having since democracy returns to Naija especially after we introduced BVAS has been giving us significant hope that we are getting closer. It is taking so long, but we will get there in Jesus' name. Amen.

My prayer now is that Atiku and Obi should fight for more clauses to be included in the law before the next election. Such that people like Wike are barred from going round to supervise his "will" imposed on voters while pretending he is doing the right job. People like that should get 10 years inside kirikiri "straight up".

How is correcting misinformation equal to advocate and defender of anyone?

And concerning corrupt people, how is Atiku & El Rufai MORE corrupt than city boy who has trillions of Lagos budget annually but no water provided, no free education for all children?

JagaBandeet is also borrowing more than PDP politicians who gave us cheap petrol and better life. What do you think he is doing with the mega trillions federal money since May 2023 such that even ministries are starved of funds huh

If you are only after improvement in electoral laws, don't uyou want improvement in our socioeconomic conditions like we had for 16 years under PDP's deregulation and privatisation policies huh

Nemere2020:
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.

He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.

He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.

“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.

“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”

The question should be, why FCT did not witness massive development during the rains of PDP 16years and APC 8 years until now. Nigeria electorate are now wiser in taking decisions during elections

socialmediaman:
The 2018 Rating by Transparency International placed Nigeria at 148th position out of 180 countries. Nigeria was improving over the years under the previous government, until Buhari got elected as president, things became worse.

There is a difference between fact and fiction. We need to face facts, Buhari is worse than GEJ when it comes to fighting corruption, at least that’s what the facts prove.

Most of us believed there was corruption under Goodluck Jonathan’s Government. I agree with those who did, there was corruption, but not as bad as it is today under Mohammadu Buhari.

In 2012, Nigeria was placed at 139th position, In 2014, Nigeria gained 3 steps and was placed at 136th position. Under Buhari, Nigeria has lost many positions down to 148th.

There’s no further proof needed that corruption has worsened under Buhari’s government compared to previous years.

This selfish serial failure will blame everyone but himself. I pity obi that has gone to align with him in a desperate bid to be vice president. Failure carry failure leads to more failure.

Atiku had 2023 on a platter of gold.
1. Should have given obi the vp slot when obi came begging.
2. Should have managed wike and his g5
3. Should have asked PDP Chair to step down for a southern candidate.
4. Should have made a public declaration for a single term and hand over to Obi in 2027.
5. Should have appealled to the fulani bandits to stop killing southerners in their homes.

Same arrogance that landed El Rufai in detention by openly challenging a sitting government with criminality. But you can't give what you dont have. Mallam no dey sagacious like PBAT and the rest is history.
