Tukura 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 @umarjumper

Tinubu gave us first minister in years, gave our youth massive opportunities, gave our villages projects and you say make we vote who give us outsiders as candidates?

Bro visit Rubochi, in years we've never had a single electric pole there, but Tinubu came in and commissioned a solar project for us.
About 80% of houses now enjoy 20hours free electricity.
Funny enough the current chairman is PDP.
But he's been sent home with his candidate.

This is just one of many ooo..

The road projects you see in the urban areas didn't stop there, even the rural areas enjoyed the benefits..

I didn't even talk about how much the youths have been involved too.

I'm telling you the presidency would be a bigger shock.

Re: Gbagyi People Celebrate The Election Of Christopher Zakka Maikalangu (Videos) by naptu2(op):
I can now write about AMAC election since it's over.

I wrote many series about indigeneship of Abuja. In those series I told you that:

1) The Federal Government took over all the land that is now Abuja and relocated the indigenes. The indigenes were also paid compensation.

I told you that the Abuja situation was one of two mass relocations that I studied (the other was the relocation of the people of Busa to New Busa because of the construction of Kainji Dam that led to the creation of Lake Kainji and flooding of their homes).

2) However, I told you that the indigenes of Abuja have always campaigned for representation and President Babangida listened to them and created the (elected) position of Mayor of Abuja (in the 1989 constitution), but Abacha removed it in the 1995 constitution.

3) I told you about the day that President Obasanjo was very angry. He had townhall meetings with residents of Abuja and they were introducing people as Eze Ndigbo of a part of Abuja and Oba Yoruba of a part of Abuja and President Obasanjo took the microphone. He was furious.

He said that he was chief of staff (military vice president) when Abuja was created and he was head of state when the people were relocated. The idea was that there would be no indigene of Abuja. Instead Abuja would belong to all Nigerians. He said that there could not be any traditional ruler in Abuja and he didn't ever want to see anything like that again.

4) I told you about the friction between the NPN Federal Government and the UPN Lagos State Government and I told you that this was one of the reasons why the FG did not want a governor or mayor of Abuja.

I told you that Abuja was created to avoid the problems of Lagos, so there was to be no indigene, it was to be big enough to absorb a large population (to avoid congestion of Lagos) and there must be no state government that can challenge the Federal Government.

5) I posted articles, pictures and videos about protests by the indigenes of Abuja. They said that the constitution says that every state must have a minister, but no indigene of Abuja has been made a minister. This issue was rectified by the Tinubu administration (they made Zephania Bitrus Jisalo a minister).

AMAC election

So now let's get to the AMAC election. Christopher Zakka (Maikalangu) is the chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), the most important local government in Abuja. He is from the Gbagyi ethnic group, one of the original indigenous groups of Abuja. He is a Christian and a member of the APC.

His running mate is Honourable Yusuf Nadabo, who is Hausa and a Muslim.

Dr Moses Paul Ogidi is one of the people that I call "Core Obidients" (not all these people that make noise online). These are the people that meet with Peter Obi almost every day and follow him to his engagements. They carry out tasks for him and they form the core of the Obidient Movement. I am referring to people like Dr Yunusa Tanko, Dr Moses Paul, Aisha Yesufu, Serah Ibrahim, Morris Monye, Blessing Chimezie, Bolanle Emiabata-Anibaba, etc.

Dr Paul decided to throw his hat in the ring and contest the election for the chairmanship of AMAC. His running mate was Nebo Nneka Emmanuela.

However, there were several problems with that ticket and it reminded me of what happened in the Edo State governorship election, when the Labour Party picked a candidate from the wrong place.

The first problem is the problem of Option A4. The Babangida Administration designed Option A4 to counter the problem of absentee politicians. There are people that are very famous nationwide, but are unknown in their village. Option A4 was designed to force such people to contest primary elections in their villages before their could aspire for higher office.

Dr Moses Paul is well known by Obidients across Nigeria, but many residents of AMAC have stated that they had never heard of him before this election season. Meanwhile, Honourable Maikalangu is the incumbent chairman and he has carried out a lot of projects and campaigned all across the local government and people in the local government have known him for years.

The second problem has to do with representation. I have told you about how the Gbagyi and other original indigenous ethnic groups of Abuje have fought for recognition and representation. Honourable Maikalangu is Gbagyi and originally from Abuja. His running mate is from a part of Kaduna that borders Abuja. Meanwhile, Dr Moses Paul is from Benue State while his running mate is Igbo.

The result of that ⬆️ is that Honourable Maikalangu won all the rural areas (where there was heavy turnout), while Dr Mo's victories came in the urban areas (where there was low voter turnout).

Honourable Maikalangu is a Christian and his running mate is a Muslim, but both Doctor Paul and his running mate were Christians.

In my view, the most important issue is something that I wrote about in my structure series. Honourble Maikalangu has been in politics for a long time. He was once a councilor in AMAC (2013) and I have heard his name for many years (he was previously in the PDP and he has supporters in both APC and PDP, in fact, the PDP candidate stepped down for him). He is the incumbent chairman and has executed many projects. Some people have also criticised him because of the sanitation situation in the council, but even this is to his advantage. You see, the people of the council know Maikalangu, but many of them have never heard of Dr Moses Paul before the election season.

So there were celebrations in Abuja
Eeeeeehn
This one off me oooooo
I thought the online party ( ADC ) claimed they won the election according to their online polling agents and their yahoo boiz situation rooms.
Re: Gbagyi People Celebrate The Election Of Christopher Zakka Maikalangu (Videos) by naptu2(op): 9:54am On Feb 23
Hamma Ahmed Hayatu was a major PDP politician and supporter of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. He is now in the ADC.

Two days ago, when somebody told him that he didn't know the FCT, he said that he became a resident of the FCT for the first time in 1997 and he became a landlord in the FCT in 2012.

Today when someone (who was upset by his criticisms) asked him what he contributed to the ADC's efforts, he said that he is no longer a resident of the FCT.

There's a bit of a disagreement in the ADC. Some former PDP members seem to be criticising the Obidient Movement, because they took sole control of the AMAC election and they made many mistakes. However, it's not just PDP vs Obidients, because some Obidients are also saying that they made many mistakes.

Anyway, these are Hama's tweets (the first tweet was made on Saturday morning).

Re: Gbagyi People Celebrate The Election Of Christopher Zakka Maikalangu (Videos) by naptu2(op): 9:56am On Feb 23
More from Hamma Hayatu.

Screenshot 3 is a major issue. Honourable Maikalangu got 229 votes in his polling unit while Dr Mo got15 votes.

However, Dr Mo got 7 votes in his polling unit while Honourable Maikalangu got 2 votes.

People are asking why there is such a low turnout in Dr Mo's polling unit. Don't his neighbours like him?

I think given the gwayi people have no governor, no state legislature, until now no minister, and only one senator which as we speaker is not an indigene, the idea that AMAC and other LGAs would have a Benue chairman and an Igbo deputy is totally unacceptable.

They deserve representation, Peter Obi who's people claim marginalisation can't turn around to marginalise others

Re: Gbagyi People Celebrate The Election Of Christopher Zakka Maikalangu (Videos) by keeper303: 10:14am On Feb 23
You are Very correct in your history of Abuja. The only little addition is that political permutations by Shagari administration to win the election derailed the planned movement of "indigenes " out of FCT to newly created areas they were supposed to be relocated to.
For example, Gbagi indigenes who were resident in Karu, Nyanya, Wuse in the FCT, after collecting compensation were supposed to relocate to New Karu and New Nyanya in Nasarawa State and New Wuse in Kaduna State. After collecting compensation and realising the government did not demolish their old abode, stayed put. Some of the families divided themselves, while some stayed behind, others relocated and started selling the allocated lands in the new locations.
Political permutations scuttled the relocation programme and we are back with the Lagos indigeneship the problem the Fct was created to correct. Now we are saddled with the problem of Abuja indigeneship. The government should have bulldozed the whole place in FCT and relocated them in their new home.

People don't like voting for LGA chairman, even state representatives...na President everyone loves coming out for.

Nothing to do with the parties. Parties , as I have noticed, try to bring out people to vote. INEC even tries, but the truth is, thanks to the media, people tend to think that president is the most important elected office in nigeria, all others are useless...when they are also very important.
