2027: Makinde, Kwankwaso hold closed-door meeting in Ibadan

Ibadan – Former Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, met behind closed doors with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde at the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.

While details of the discussion remain scarce, the meeting is widely speculated to be linked to preparations for the 2027 general elections, given Kwankwaso’s recent political activities and Governor Makinde’s strategic influence in national politics.

Observers note that such high-profile engagements between prominent political figures often signal strategic alliances, consultations, or planning ahead of key electoral contests.

Kwankwaso is already designated as a state sponsor of terror and about to be sanctioned by the United States of America. He has nothing more to offer apart from Sharia and persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

Kwankwanso don realise that PDP is still the main opposition party and not ADC as seen in the Abuja elections, he wan port.

Meetings like this are always tricky to read from the outside. On one hand, it could be a strategic success, especially if Makinde and Kwankwaso are laying the groundwork for alliances, endorsements, or coordinated campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections. Makinde’s influence in Oyo and the South West is significant, while Kwankwaso still carries weight in the North, so a collaboration could be powerful. This is just my opinion and not a definitive statement.

Makinde made the biggest political mistake of his career by fighting Wike. He will learn the hard way.

Buhari shouldn’t have won a second term…things were hard but he did. APC should not have won in 2023 but they did. Both times they won because the opposition was inept. They offered nothing…people are not as stupid as they think. Yes things are hard but people can see improvements and you are still campaigning with the same lack of strategy and lack of solutions or alternatives, the same blame the government that failed you in the past?

14 million people rejected APC in 2023 but they won with only 8m votes, despite losing 6m votes from 2019..

I have said it many times, if the opposition cannot digest the import of the statement in bold, then they deserve to be in opposition. If their supporters cannot digest the import of the statement and continue to encourage them in their foolery, then it’s on you as supporters to putting your hopes in incompetent opposition figures. You as opposition supporters delivered 14m votes but your leaders sabotaged it because or their egos and you are still encouraging and supporting them in the same strategy that failed?

It seems that Makinde is always meeting and plotting these days. I hope it ends well for him.

Kwankwaso should give it a rest, even though it is his constitutional right to contest the election, but a strategic and tactical politician should know when to throw himself in the ring, this is one thing they should all learn from the master strategist, jagaban ……….only God can stop Tinubu in 2027, they should be planning ahead of 2031 when there will be vacancy in Aso rock btw I thought ipob/obidient told us obasanjo trying to have obi and kwankwaso on a joint ticket? Seyi first had a meeting with the President and according to Fayose, he was not welcome. Then he met with Atiku, again, according to Fayose, Atiku requested 10 billion naira commitment. Now with Kwankwaso, the question is, between the two, who will be the presidential candidate and who will be the running mate?
Makinde's headache now is about Oyo Politics, to have more political alliances to be able to install a successor, someone who can cover his tracks
