I can't speak Itshekiri but I could understand half of what she was saying. I'd say anyone from the Owo, Ondo, Ekiti axis should be able follow without issue.

She probably has not spoken it in a while. Initially you will struggle but it gets more fluent as you progress. I was born in a state outside mine and I caught the language of that region early, but did not get to speak it for more than 30 years as we moved in my early childhood. It took me about three months to get the flow again.

These people are fuxxcking Yoruba. The language is so close to several dialects in Ondo State such as ikale, okitipupa, owo and even ondo town.
It's easier for anyone from Ondo to understand this dialect than to understand most Ondo State dialects such as Akoko dialects. Itsekiri people are 100% Yoruba.
