The name of the game is to imitate the British. Many of dem hustle and make enough savings and low risk investments to live off interest and dividends. No constant crying about the price of bags of cement, liters of petrol, and onions in the marketplace. Get up out of the poverty mindset immediately like a lot of our politicians and former ministers enjoying investments in the UK and Yankee. 😉 |

esnbrutality:Minimum wage was #60 per month in 1974 shey na every Nigerian build house then? A bag of cement was 40 kobo in the 1970's. Please get a picture of lagos in the 70's and you will find very few buildings unlike now. Forget Agbadorians and the Groundnutrians. Pray make God open door for you and your family. By 2050 even if a bag of cement goes for #50k people go still build house. |

I can't wait for the cement cabal to be handled like the rice cabal. Allow importation of bulk cement and see the idiot and devilish Dangote, BUA, Lafarge start crying. It can help in stabilizing the market like the rice market |

Lateef73:Is sad. |
| Re: Bag Of Cement Climbs To ₦11,000 by DeLaRue: 1:13pm On Feb 27 |
The federal government needs to allow importation of cement. Like it is with petrol. Cement price increase happen synchronously between Dangote Cement and BUA to such an extent that they have become an anti-competitive oligopoly. Let cement be imported otherwise these oligopolists will strangulate the economy. |
| Re: Bag Of Cement Climbs To ₦11,000 by Reference(m): 1:16pm On Feb 27 |
Told you guys what problems inflation causes. Inflation this government has never acknowledged as a serious problem warranting a state of emergency. Now since cement is a fundamental commodity, top of the engineering food chain just as flour is to the confectionery/food industry watch how this price increase impacts and sends shockwaves down the entire Industrial, engineering and property sector affecting everything from the cost of housing to the increase in the budget deficit as concerning public works. |
| Re: Bag Of Cement Climbs To ₦11,000 by Vision101(m): 1:16pm On Feb 27 |
Macphenson:You are the one that don't understand economics. You guys are obsessed with dollar. Products that are produced locally that has minimal imported input, how can exchange rate reasonably affect the price? About 90% input material for cement production is sourced locally. |

As long as Dangotes stranglehold on the cement industry continues unabated, Nigerians will struggle to have decent houses.. |
