Cement price increase happen synchronously between Dangote Cement and BUA to such an extent that they have become an anti-competitive oligopoly.

Let cement be imported otherwise these oligopolists will strangulate the economy.

When folks were trumpeting the BUA oil refinery coming into play I said it was almost a case of two sides of the same coin.

The only way for Nigerians to protect themselves is to demand that certain products are given the status of 'commodities' to so that the power to set prices is taken from producers and handed to markets, to bourses like the those in London trading metals, energy and agric products.

By this there is a lot more price and production stability and prevents issues like price gouging and the sort of gang ups amongst a few producers.

Thats if the states r even paying the current minimum wage, cos i know quite well most states haven't implemented the new minimum wage up till today...

All the same, the only people benefiting from APC govts since 2015 r politicians, criminals, kidnappers, bandits.

You are the one that don't understand economics. You guys are obsessed with dollar. Products that are produced locally that has minimal imported input, how can exchange rate reasonably affect the price? About 90% input material for cement production is sourced locally.

So why is the price going up since the materials for cement are locally sourced?
