Humans have insatiable needs and may beg at some point. However, this post is biasedly talking about begging for money.

This is why Nigerians tend to look down on people who beg for money, forgetting that no one is indispensable. They think it's only money humans need to survive.

If you see nothing wrong with a rich man asking for a non-monetary favour, then don't criticise a poor man if he asks for a monetary favour.

Nothing wrong with helping others in genuine need, when people suddenly turn you to their client is where the issue is. Many people tend to take people's generosity for stupidity, which is wrong. Everyone needs to say NO sometimes, else you're seen as a maga.

I detest begin as person so i try to make sure i work hard for the things i need so i never have to beg anyone for anything whatsoever .

Sadly, some take you for a fool when you keep helping.

Helping and stopping to help when you are being taken for a ride makes you an enemy. Seen it. Don't create dependence.

Others will say "empower" those who beg you for money, how do you empower those who are not ready to put in the work needed to succeed?

We are all happy to help, but how long can you keep helping entitlement mentality people?

Don't hide your wickedness and stinginess behind irrelevant posts

Just pray you meet good and genuine people in life. It's not even about begging or not.

I cry every day for God to bless me stupendously so that I will help others. I feel very sad if I am unable to help people in need . Whoever sees helping people as an avenue to mock them, will face God's judgement. Why are we here if we can't help the needy.

For me as far as there is a genuine need one must and should open up. Not everyone is stupid to think that we all never fall into situations we will need a helping hand. A living dog is better than a dead lion and things will not remain the way they are but will certainly change for good.

helping people is a choice and it have price.

I feel a deep sense of fulfillment and pride when I'm able to help someone in need. On the other hand, I feel a pang of sadness when I'm unable to lend a helping hand to someone who's counting on me.

It might sound very bad but when I know your call is about asking for something and I am broke I avoid to pick calls.

That doesn’t mean that you should go over board entering people’s dm begging like you don’t have sense because Nigerians like to overdo……you can communicate in way like you need an opportunity or to inquire about something that will help you…that’s the meaning of that statement….you will you like it if someone is constantly begging you for money everyone and the person is irresponsible and lazy? Except you’re that type of person

Nobody is saying you shouldn’t help people but do it with wisdom and don’t have a savior complex. Some of those beggars you see on the road they have better furnished apartments than yours that people out of pity without wisdom built for them and they will still come out to beg. Just be wise. This is why Nigerians have become entitled unnecessarily

My broda you are not alone ! I find fulfillment knowing that money i could have wasted on drinks or sporty, that token put smile on someone i know face

if its in you its in you, even if na 5k remain for aza we share naa my life from school days

If not mental crazy, can a normal person have money nd still be begging friends for urgent 2k, 5k

I have begged before nd i know how emasculating that experience can be, infact begging friends is one sure way to depression,

Exactly my thought. Reason I had to first abandoned and suspended all I was doing to give the thread an attention and focus. Only for me to be disappointed at the end for the reading.

To those of you attacking him, you can't go far without enlisting the assistance of some people. That's not the kind of people OP is referring to.

He's clearly talking about lazy and entitled people who think the world owe them, who only call when they need something from you and can even push you to borrow and give them, if not, trouble.

The problem with helping friends and extended relations is that, once you help once, twice, three times, just know that they will keep coming back for more and you will keep helping and helping and helping. They won't take their lives serious cuz they know you will always help.

They will open bank on your head and you will be their regular 🏧 card.

Even if you don't have, and you voice out that you don't have, they will never believe you because they've made it a habit that you will always give them at your own detriment when they ask.

As for me, I don't know how to beg even if hunger wants to finish me. It's not my thing.

Some people make begging their birthrights. That's the problem. You have something little, and you choose to share it with a friend or a relation voluntarily. Not that you have in abundance.

But because you did it voluntarily, they will assume you have in abundance and will come back instantly and start billing you for something else they will use money to solve. Haba! Is it not just now I sent you money? Let's have some conscience.

Everybody has a need to beg for, but not everything is worth to beg for. There are beggars who are need and there are some who want love to beg and lazy to hustle.

I only help people putting effort, we feel justified and relieved when we help some beggars now knowing that you wanted your resources.
