Michael Banjo @banjoleke

We thank you sincerely for accompanying the Bishops with your prayers throughout the 2026 First Plenary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, which concluded successfully today.

At the Holy Mass, presided over by the immediate past President of the Conference and Archbishop of Owerri, Most Rev. Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji, certificates of election into office were presented to the newly elected principal officers of the Conference.

This was followed by a press conference, during which the Communiqué issued at the end of the Plenary was further shared and reflected upon with members of the press and the faithful present.

We pray that the fruits of this Plenary Assembly may inspire renewed commitment to servant leadership, foster justice and accountability, and advance good governance at all levels for the well-being of our people in Nigeria.

A divine institution where every denomination came from. All the history about Christianity and all the truth is in Catholic Church. You are brainwashed by pastors that have tried businesses and wasn't successful then venture into church without proper theological knowledge of the Bible. I pity you for wat u don't know is bigger than u.

God bless the oldest surviving church in world.

Not all these mushroom pentecostal churches seeking to enrich themselves.

I seriously maintain that for you to be a true man of God , celibacy must be practiced.

Majority of the great prophets of God in the bible never married, Elijah, Elisha , Enoch ,etc

Be careful nowadays of elections like these.

Some of the people heading nigerian christian bodies nowadays are sponsored by jihadists so they can remain silent when atrocities are going on.
