1. The 15 & 13 years old are meant to be enrolled in Government high school (which are tuition free) and the 10years in an elementary school 2. Tuition free because they are minors 3. Average of $5800 per month 4. Yes, I am JMG12: |

Reasons for the refusal of your application To help you understand why your application was refused, below are the Officer Decision Notes (ODN) specific to your application as they are displayed in IRCC’s system. These notes were entered by the officer who assessed and made the final decision on your application. • I have reviewed the application. The purpose of the applicant'svisit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details provided in the application. Applicant is a minor travelling to Canada with only one parent. They have not provided a signed declaration of consent and passport from the non-accompanying parent. The applicant's assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for the applicant (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable). The applicant is a minor who has applied for a study permit to join parent in Canada on a work permit until 2027-05-17. Applicant's expenses to be covered by their parents. Inviter parent has provided a bank letter that confirms account balances captured on the date of letter issue. Transaction history for these accounts, demonstrating the flow of funds, has not been included. Nigeria bank statement shows routinely low funds. Employment letter indicates that the sponsor parent works between 24-44 hours weekly depending on available shifts. Inconsistent schedule noted. Based on the documentation provided, I am not satisfied that the sponsors have provided sufficient evidence of their unhindered access to a stable source of funds to support their dependents and themselves during their proposed stay in Canada. Based on the financial documents submitted, I am not satisfied that the applicant has sufficient funds to pay for living expenses for the proposed studies. Weighing the factors in this application, I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay. For the reasons above, I have refused this application. bullstriker: |

Please I need suggestions house. I have a Bachelor’s of nursing in Nigeria and am looking to migrate to Canada through the study route. But finding a suitable course is currently challenging for me. I have gotten admission for Disability support professional which is a certificate program and am not very comfortable with that because of how a visa officer will see it. I’d prefer a masters program that is health related. Any suggestions please |

b4biodun:That’s good. Working both as a PSW and a Community Service Worker means you may qualify under the Healthcare and Social Services Occupations draw. From my understanding and a bit of research: (1) NOC 42201 – Social and community service workers (This covers Community Service Worker roles.) (2) NOC 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates (This typically covers roles like Personal Support Worker (PSW), when the duties match.) That’s a very good position to be in. It may even be better if you take your time and apply for PR for yourself and your kids that could be the best option for you. Work for at least 12 months, write the IELTS, and make sure your CRS points are high enough. All the best. I hope and pray you come back soon so we can all celebrate you getting PR for your family. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/ministerial-instructions/express-entry-rounds.html

b4biodun:Except for the funds, which they stated were low. Just a little note: If a minor is travelling with only one parent, IRCC requires: (1) A signed and notarized letter of consent from the non-accompanying parent (2) A copy of both parent’s passport bio page Without these documents, the application will almost always be refused. Maybe that part was not properly explained to them, meaning the paperwork might not have been completed correctly. |

What are the medical tests they do to someone at their hospital? And whats the amount range to be on the pof and can i use my daddy as sponsor with my own account too as backup with some money transferred to me by my daddy as an additional one to his own bank statement and also after first refusal. How long before someone can apply again? |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 8:23am On Mar 02 |
What you should do is add a sponsor, maybe the dad or a close family member, and proof of relationship. You will need consent from the dad too because they are still minors. b4biodun: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 8:39am On Mar 02 |
As earlier stated, you need to add their dad as a co-sponsor, and also obtain their authorized consent for them. You also need to factor in the caregiver fee based on your work schedule in your POF. You need to submit an account statement for yourself, not a letter. Work on the POF submitted from Nigeria. Each person will need like $4,000CAD per year, multiply that's $12,000 already for them for a year, with caregiver charges and other miscellaneous expenses. b4biodun: |

Great1tech:1 Answer The medical exam Physical examination (weight, height, blood pressure) , Medical history questions, Chest X-ray (to check for tuberculosis), Blood test (HIV & syphilis screening for adults), Urine test, Vision check They are mainly checking for Tuberculosis and any Communicable diseases the main things is they are making sure you do not have Any condition that could cause excessive demand on Canada’s health system 2 Answer Proof of Funds For Proof of Funds (POF), you should have your full school fees plus $22,895 CAD (living expenses requirement). https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents/financial-support.html If your school fees for 2 years are $35,000, then: $35,000 + $22,895 = $57,895 CAD minimum I usually say $60,000 CAD minimum (or about 60 million naira), but people say I am a mad man 😂 but its on the governments website telling you how much you need to have minimum plus your school fees but it always works when you have a minimum of that amount as long as you can prove link to the business or employment to the amount 3 Answer Sponsorship You can use your dad as your sponsor and also include your own account as backup, with some money transferred to you by your dad as additional support. No matter how the money is transferred, your dad’s account must show proof of how he earned the money (for example, linking it to his business or employment). Yes, transferring money to your account is good. If he can transfer the cost of living to your account and keep the school fees in his own account, that’s fine too. but your dad would write a letter saying he transfered the money to you for living expenses and he is responsible for taking care of you Since he is your dad, he can even be your main and only sponsor. Just make sure that when you are paying the school acceptance fee, it comes from his account. Then explain clearly in your Letter of Explanation that he is responsible for taking care of you as your sponsor and has demonstrated this by paying your acceptance fee. 4 Answer – Reapplying After Refusal There is no specific waiting period before you can apply again after a refusal. Just make sure you properly address all the reasons for the initial refusal before reapplying. Can you tell us why your visa was rejected? What reasons did the visa office give?

Hello guys, I want to apply to canada for masters. I have a good GRE score and an average gpa (second class upper). I noticed in their requirements they said they don't require GRE but should I still submit it to strengthen my case. Also there was no mention of WES, does it mean I can just use my Nigerian transcript as is for the application. Thanks. |

leinadfem:Hello, I had to come back to your comment because I’m honestly stuck right now. I’m having serious difficulty wiring money into my sister’s GIC. Initially, she opened with CIBC, but they said they don’t allow third-party transfers, so that didn’t work. Then we tried TD after opening the account, but they refused a TD-to-TD transfer. The money is currently in my TD account, and they suggested that I could transfer the funds to any bank of my choice and then wire it from there to the TD GIC. At this point, I’m really confused and don’t know what to do next. If you can share exactly how you made yours work, I’d really appreciate it. |

Good day everyone I have a degree in English language, I have a 1 year+ son. I want to apply for Early childhood education and I’m sponsoring myself. I have 30k usd as cash which I have saved overtime but I don’t know how to deposit this to avoid lump-sum deposit.I plan on going with September intake. I also have been money saved up in my sister’s account, transferring this money to me might be a red flag. Will depositing the usd in my dom account be a bad idea?. My son’s father is not coming along, it’s just me and my son. How do I go about this. And will the course switch be accepted? Thank you In anticipation |

If you want to set up a GIC for your living expenses, the bank must withdraw funds from the applicant's bank account. kemmyk: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by bullstriker: 1:15pm On Mar 03 |
Do the following to address the Officer's concern about insufficient funds, If you have started working full-time (minimum of 30 hrs), get an updated employment letter from your employer stating that you are now a full-time worker (minimum of 30 hours per week). If you made a decent amount last year, provide your Statement of Remuneration Paid (T4) and Notice of Assessment (NoA). Transfer the POF into your spouse’s bank account and provide a gift deed stating that the funds are for your child’s living expenses in Canada. The above documents attest to the source of the funds and should allay the VO's concerns. All the best. b4biodun: |

amnotapervert:Adding one more affordable school ( Cheap School) to this list: University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). If you calculate from the screenshot above, the Master of Social Work tuition is $3,104.40 CAD per semester. Over 2 years (6 semesters), the total tuition comes to $18,626.40 CAD. that's about 18 to 20 million naira https://www.unbc.ca/finance/accounts-receivable/tuition-and-fees#2025-26-graduate-student-tuition-and-fees You really can’t get much better than that for a Master’s program in Canada.

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 5:45pm On Mar 03 |
ElizabethQ:You need to get admission first. That is what you should focus on. Look for a school that offers the program you’re interested in, apply, and hopefully you get admission. If you have saved that amount of money over time and it is already in your account, that is good. You do not need to move it to another account as long as you are sponsoring yourself. It is actually better for the money to remain in your account. There is nothing wrong with having a lump sum, as long as the savings were built up over time and not deposited all at once without explanation. You just need to show proof that you were able to save that money through your business or your job. As long as you can explain the source clearly, you are fine. 30k United States Dollar equals 41.02k Canadian Dollar is a good amount of money but its not enought you need full school fees plus $22,895 CAD (living expenses requirement). https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents/financial-support.html Regarding the child, you will need a written and signed consent letter from the child’s father in order for the child to travel with you. IRCC can refuse your visa if you do not provide this when traveling with a minor. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/minor-children-travelling-canada.html IMO Since the child is only one year old, there are not many options for schooling alone with a 1 year old. IRCC understands that childcare is expensive, and traveling immediately with a young child can make it harder to convince them of your plans. Many people choose to settle first finish school and obtain a work permit before bringing their children. However, in all cases, you still need the child’s father to sign a consent letter confirming he agrees to the child traveling with you.

coolflame7:Go for a Master’s program you get higher points in the CRS draw compared to a postgraduate diploma. remember also Visa CAP does not affect Masters and PHD so as long as you have your funds and everthing looks good your visa will get approved Remember long term not short and at that time you will need every point necessary : Two or more credentials (one must be 3+ years) = 128 points (without spouse) Master’s degree = 135 points (without spouse) PhD = 150 points (without spouse) You also have the option of PNP draws based on the province you are in. Since you are in healthcare, you have a strong advantage because healthcare occupations are currently in high demand. You can check schools like the University of Northern British Columbia or Memorial University of Newfoundland to see if they are currently accepting applications. it will cost you less than 20 million naira in school fees for the 2 years total https://www.unbc.ca/finance/accounts-receivable/tuition-and-fees#2025-26-graduate-student-tuition-and-fees https://www.mun.ca/become/graduate/programs-and-courses/nursing/

AbelAbdul:You’re stacking admissions like they’re Super Bowl rings… but still no visa in sight 😭 At this point, are you chasing degrees or just collecting IRCC rejection emails? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 7:32pm On Mar 03 |
Theyemmie:We need more context. You didn’t mention what your BSc degree is in. You didn’t mention which province you plan to stay in or are considering. You didn’t mention your current job or whether it aligns with your field of study. You didn’t mention what type of Program or programs you’re looking for. Please don’t just be packing admission letters like AbelAbdul and getting visa rejections back to back. You need to give proper context. Also, tell us what “cheap” means to you what tuition range per year are you working with? |
