I am so heartbroken, depressed, and disappointed. I graduated from Usmanu Danfodiyo University and completed my NYSC, but unfortunately, I could not secure a proper job. So, I decided to join a private school. Sadly, I am treated like a slave there. I teach PHE for JSS1–3, ICT for JSS1 to SS3, and Government and Economics for SS1–3. I also serve as the Exam Officer, which means I have to type all the examination questions, organize the exams, and record the results. There is so much work on my shoulders. Despite all these responsibilities, at the end of the month, I go home with a salary of just ₦30,000. |

I try every day to console myself, believing that one day this situation will pass. But instead of things getting better, they are making it worse. Despite the low salary, they still go ahead and make deductions from my pay. To make matters more painful, they do not pay us during holidays.

I am not even expecting a salary next month because of the holiday, and we are in the Ramadan period. The Sallah festival is fast approaching. I worked so hard to make sure I would receive my full salary so that I could at least cover my basic needs. But despite all my efforts, they still went ahead and deducted almost ₦8,000 from my salary. I feel so cheated and disappointed. I nearly cried last night. |

BetterNigeria0:Please, if there is anyone who can connect me to a better job, I would truly appreciate the help. I am going through a lot in my life right now. The problem is that if I quit this job without securing another one, things may become even worse for me. |

It'll be easier for people who want to help to reach out to you if you actually: 1. State your current location or willingness to travel. 2. State what you studied in school and when you graduated (First class? Second Class? Third Class?) 3. State skills you have (Unless you also want another teaching job). That amount is quite low to even suggest that you save for some months and then find something to learn - but you need to get something that will set you on a career path - unless you studied Education in school. To augment your income, can you maybe arrange for after school lessons for students in the area? Or weekend classes? One on one or group - there have been people who started with home lesson and went on to start their own schools too. All the best to you. |

Having a job would likely place you in similar situation, you sound desperate so probably you’re willing to take anything. With that said, which skill is in you? do you know how to barb, paint etc. Also you can use the model of having a physical asset eg photocopy machine, blender, clipper etc, things that people use everyday and charge a fee. |

How can you have people eating millions every month in this country without doing a single thing that using pen to change figures when young educated people are going through this level of hardship. Yet their sycophants praise them all day in social media networks. @op, only advice I can give has been given by Hypnotize. Learn a hand skill you can use to augment and pivot to entrepreneurship. Even Nigerian employers are so cruel. |

Hypnotise:sir, if i will be honest with you the skills you mentioned i dont have any, when ever i intend to learn something my dad will question me and command me to focus only with my studies. Saying that what did i lack? Food? Shelter or clothes? That i should only focus on my studies. I swear to Almighty that's what block me from learning a skill. But when it comes to computer i habe so many skills, i jist mentioned some and Honestly speaking i am a fast learner in everything i focus on |

My candid advise pls be careful when searching for jobs or when others are calling you for jobs. There are lots of bad people out there with sinister motives. I pray God uses someone to meet you at your point of need. But again this country sef. Why won’t the youths do fraud and other vices with these harsh economic realities with no good sources of income! |

Country hard but people no dey understand.... I just received my Salary today (48,000) after paying some debt I'm left with 6150 in my account, I'm owing MTN almost 2k.. and month never go anywhere... No food and no gass.... I refuse to think more than I should..... My advice, keep searching for a better job, don't travel to any state with the promise of employment without having enough money to return home incase of any emergency... One day all these sufferings would be over one way or the other. |
