amnotapervert:Bsc pharmacology I don’t have a province in mind just a province that’s open to visitors and path to pr is easy I’m a medical representative for a pharmaceutical company 5years and it aligns with my field of study. I haven’t really decided on the field I intend to apply to, I just need what sells well in Canada My research showed it’s majorly quality assurance/regulatory affairs (most of which are offered in Ontario with exorbitant tuitions)and those nursing and care stuff I don’t want to do all that Most research courses require 2.1 and also mailing a supervisor before applying I just need what sells in Canada in the pharmaceutical field that would accept 2.2 By cheap I mean $12000 -$13000 max I don’t mind switching to tech too but I think my visa would most likely be rejected |

Good afternoon house, so I have been seeing a lot of ads from passage talking about giving loans to prospective students who want to study in Canada, I was wondering if anyone has used it before when applying for Canada study visa, does the embassy accept loans from passage as POF? Thanks |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 6:07pm On Mar 04 |
The embassy accepts passage as part of POF buy it does not guarantee any outcome. Coldburn: |

Theyemmie:You are giving me an assignment 😂 hahaha. Normally people pay for this but we are sharing free knowledge here I always like when people find information themselves, but I’m always willing to point you in the right direction. The $12,000–$13,000 per year ( remember you are looking for 2 years so thats double the price ) tuition is mostly found in some of the cheaper universities or colleges in Atlantic Canada that’s typically where you will see that range. Since you are considering a college option because of your 2.2, I can still guide you. However, I need your input. From my little research and based on your profile, I think these types of programs would suit you in college. Please correct me if I am wrong or let me know the specific course you are considering: (1) Biotechnology (diploma) (2) Bioscience Technology (diploma) (2) Business / Commerce ( I do not recommend because business is a useless degree for anyone coming to Canada as an international student in 2026) (3) Life Sciences programs (4) Quality Assurance / GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) diplomas and certificates (5) Applied Clinical Research (6) clinical research diploma |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Theyemmie: 8:17pm On Mar 04 |
amnotapervert:Sorry hahaha 4) Quality Assurance / GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) diplomas and certificates This is the one I talked about but most of them are offered in Ontario with exorbitant tuitions If I can see one in the Atlantic then I would love to do that If not then this (1) Biotechnology (diploma) |

Do you think the $16000 balance can be used for them i.e $4000* 3= $12000 and $4000 for caregiver and miscellaneous expenses. Yes, an autorized consent letter from their dad will be submitted as well and also as a co-sponsor JMG12: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by b4biodun(f): 11:23pm On Mar 04 |
Thanks alot, will sure do. will try to attach me NoA after filing for my tax and also explain my full time job as my primary source of income rather than the parttime job (24-44hrs) that was used as yardstick for refusal, also a bank statement that shows the breakdone of my savings and monthly income. I hope my explanation and documents will be sufficient for reconsideration bullstriker: |

Good morning gurus in the house. Thank you all for your contributions in this thread. I was offered admission at St Lawrence College Kingston Ontario for Fall intake. The school recommended using BorderPass for the study permit application, though it's optional. Please, I would like to know about BorderPass, even though I have made some research about it. Has anyone here used it for their application?. And what is the success rate for those that have used it. @amnotapervert, please your contributions will be highly appreciated 👍. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 4:35am On Mar 05 |
Ulomaceline:I do not know what BorderPass is, I am a bit old school. I just went over their website and, in summary, they appear to be visa processing agents who also have registered direct access to collages and Universities https://www.norquest.ca/international-student/immigration/borderpass/ Personally, I am more of a do it yourself kind of person because no one knows your situation better than you do. However, if you need assistance, I always recommend using a licensed immigration consultant or an immigration lawyer when you have your admission in the whole of Nigeria we only have 7 of them https://register.college-ic.ca/Public-Register-EN/RCIC_Search.aspx When they help you, they will state on your forms that they are assisting you as your representative in filling out the visa application. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigration-citizenship-representative/learn-about-representatives.html https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=854&top=4 https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/video/a-victim-disappearing-act-choose-your-representative-carefully.html Just make sure you read what the application says about using a third-party representative. From a quick look, it seems legitimate if they are providing lawyers to review your application. That said, if anything feels fishy, call it out and make sure you understand every step of the process they are handling on your application.

Theyemmie:If you really want it, you will go ahead and search for the school yourself. With 12–13k CAD max per year, you are probably looking at Atlantic provinces. And remember, that’s just tuition other fees get added on top. A lot of Quality Assurance / GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) diplomas and certificates are just one year for example, Conestoga College: Food Safety and Quality Assurance Food Processing https://gateway.conestogac.on.ca/fulltime/food-safety-and-quality-assurance-food-processing?utm I try to give short answers, but you’ll find what you’re looking for when you do some searching. Then you can come back here and ask more questions people will help. |

Good morning everyone, Please how do I pay my tuition deposit? What are the pros and cons of paying through ? 1. My GTB usd MasterCard from Nigeria 2. Paying through a friend in Canada, like sending naira and he converts to cad and pay. Please I need sincere contributions and I will appreciate better options as to getting the deposit paid. Please note, I'm self sponsored and institution is MUN. I anticipate your Swift responses, many thanks. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 5:31pm On Mar 05 |
Yes it is. I have seen both outcomes for applications that were submitted using passage. Coldburn: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 5:36pm On Mar 05 |
You can pay with your GT usd debit card if the amount you want to pay is within the limit set by the bank. Instead of sending money to a friend to convert, why don't you use flywire and pay in Naira from here? Ayo4030: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Ayo4030: 7:26pm On Mar 05 |
ATTAHDYE:Alright, thank you. I'm thinking that flywire will be more expensive than asking a friend to pay , is there a problem with such arrangements? |

Please I need help, I received my PPR and need to send my passport to VFS Abuja for stamping. However, I’m having a lot of trouble making the payment for the two-way courier service through their portal; the transaction keeps failing. It keeps saying no payment method available. Since I am based not based in Abuja but Enugu, I was wondering if anyone here has successfully used DHL to send their passport to VFS Abuja recently? If you’ve faced similar payment issues or have tips on how to get the courier payment done, I would really appreciate your guidance!

Good morning house I got offer at Fleming college it was stated to pay 2000cad deposit to secure my seat after which 8,8879cad to be paid May 1, 2026. All this payment cover first semester tuition payment now if I pay only 6000cad toward the first semester tuition payment and show the remaining tuition balance plus living expenses in POF and apply for study permit does this idea okay and make sense or is it a must to pay all the first semester tuition fee before applying for study permit. |

Emilie04:Nigeria only has seven licensed immigration consultants in the entire country. They are not cheap but the Facebook and Instagram Telegram agents are cheaper I am a do-it-yourself person, but I understand that some people may not fully understand the immigration process. Some also come from wealthy families and may prefer to hire professional assistance, which is understandable. However, if you are speaking with anyone who claims to be an immigration consultant, please make sure they are licensed ask for their RCIC college ID . If they are not among the seven licensed consultants in Nigeria or are not licensed by the Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) or Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIAs), please verify them using the official public register below: https://register.college-ic.ca/Public-Register-EN/RCIC_Search.aspx Please check carefully. There are many Facebook/ Whatsapp agents claiming to offer immigration services, and unfortunately many of them are not legitimate. I try my best to warn people about them. Remember, no one knows your situation better than you. The immigration application process can be done online by yourself. It is mostly like an IF/ELSE questionnaire: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/apply.html (1) Sign in and register (2) Answer the questions (3) Submit your documents (4) Pay the fee If you have questions, keep asking here and we will help you. You can do it yourself. Please be careful and avoid unlicensed agents. even with 3 admission AbelAbdul keeps facing back to back visa rejections and is blaming it on the fake agents he is using while he know he can not truly afford the lincenced agent rememeber in Nigeria we have only 7

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 4:10pm On Mar 06*. Modified: 5:00pm On Mar 06 |
Trust2021:The school asked you to pay $2,000 first because if your study permit is rejected, it is easier for them to process and refund that amount back to you. So just follow the school's instructions and do not rush the process. Paying the $2,000 deposit already shows that you are willing and able to remove money from your account to pay for your school fees. Also, make sure the remaining tuition fees plus your living expenses https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents/financial-support.html are available in your bank account. It is also good to add a little extra money to show that you have additional funds in case of unexpected expenses. Some people refer to this as miscellaneous expenses because trust me you will be spending alot of miscellaneous expenses don't be like AbelAbdul who keeps getting admission he currently has 3 admission but keeps getting back to back Visa rejection because no funds and blames everyone online for picking schools he can not afford

You are asking why I said a business degree is a useless degree for anyone coming to Canada in 2026. Let me explain why. Most people coming to Canada want to stay after finishing school. To do that, you usually have to go through the PR process. If you have been following the recent Express Entry draws, most of them have been category-based draws for things like healthcare, social work, senior manager and French speakers. Sometimes there are a few exceptions, but overall it has become more difficult. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/ministerial-instructions/express-entry-rounds.html They have not even done a STEM draw in a long time now and PNP are not as easy as 2021 times So if you are coming with a business degree, the only exception is if you calculate your CRS points and you are already around 450–470 before coming to Canada. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/check-score.html Then you could add 2 years of Canadian work experience, which gives about 53 points, plus the points from a Canadian education: 1 or 2 year diploma/certificate: 15 points Bachelor’s degree (3 years or more) or masters/PHD: 30 points For Canadian work experience: 1 year gives you: 40 points 2 years gives you: 53 points So the real question is this: if you calculate your CRS score without coming to study or work in Canada, and your points are already around 450–470, then yes, you could study business and still possibly get invited through the Canadian Experience Class. But if you are not already in the 450–470 range before coming to Canada, it becomes very difficult to encourage someone to study business in Canada because getting PR may be hard except you learn french Unless someone plans to use another pathway, like what Badadvisor has done getting married to his 150KG GF for PR.

Hello people of God, Hope we're all good. I currently deferred my 2 year degree admission from Fall 2026 to Fall 2027 due to some personal reasons, but I have a passport that expires September 2028. Can I still use my current passport to apply for the study visa because I plan on applying this year November. Thank you for your time and consideration. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by olasubomy: 3:33pm On Mar 07*. Modified: 3:48pm On Mar 07 |
Timibankz:You can still apply with your current passport; however, please note that IRCC will not grant your visa beyond your passport's expiry date. Additionally, CBSA officers at the airport (port of entry) will typically issue your study permit up to the passport validity date or possibly extend it to the validity date plus 90 days, but this is entirely at their discretion. To avoid any interruptions in your studies, plan ahead for your Nigerian passport renewal, ideally not later than six months before the expiry date—so, around late winter (March/April). The Nigerian High Commission is in Ottawa, and you can either plan a trip there or utilize their contactless passport renewal option, which could be convenient given your busy academic schedule but I would prefer going there so you can build relationship and get a contact that you can call to follow up since you would need it urgently for a purpose. All relevant details can be found on their website. According to IRCC guidelines, you should apply to extend your study permit at least 30 days before the original expiry date, but it is much safer to start the process earlier—preferably three months in advance once your new passport arrives. It is crucial not to let the current study permit expire before you apply for an extension, as this would put you out of status and require you to stop studying. You can always reach out to the immigration office in your school if you need further clarification or call the IRCC customer care line when you are in Canada. I would have shared the number here but not sure if that is allowed on Naira land but you can goggle it. All the best! |
