Residents were left in shock after a group of armed robbers carried out a brazen cash-van robbery in Braamfischerville.

CCTV footage circulating online shows the moment the attackers ambushed a cash-in-transit van on a busy street. In the video, several men suddenly rush toward the armored vehicle from different directions, surrounding it within seconds.

The suspects then detonate explosives on the van, triggering a loud blast that forces open the cash compartment. Smoke and debris fill the air as bags of money and loose banknotes spill onto the road.

The robbers immediately begin scooping up the cash, stuffing bundles into bags and tossing them into waiting vehicles nearby. Some of the suspects stand guard with guns while others gather the money scattered across the street.

At one point in the footage, a few excited residents appear to run toward the scene after spotting the cash lying on the road. However, the robbers quickly fire shots into the air, forcing the locals to retreat and run back for safety.

After loading as much cash as they could, the suspects jumped into several waiting vehicles and sped off. Reports say the getaway cars included a silver-grey Volvo and a dark brown BMW X5, among others.

The damaged van was left on the road with some cash still scattered around the area.
Police vehicles were later seen arriving at the scene, but the robbers had already escaped.
According to reports, the South African Police Service confirmed that a cash-in-transit robbery case is now under investigation.

Authorities said the suspects rammed the van, forced the crew out at gunpoint, assaulted them, detonated explosives, stole an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled in multiple vehicles.

A manhunt was launched immediately after the incident, but as of the time of this report, no arrests had been made in connection with the Braamfischerville heist.
