May God help us all in this country, Nigeria. We even tried to have this 54.5years as our life expectancy. We all undergo serious life threatening situations in this country ranging from armed bandits to kidnapping, accidents due to bad roads, foods shortages, and all the other social vices that one encounters everyday.

it just mean some will die before 54, some around that age, and some will reach old age.

What false narratives? Because you think you are comfortable living in a town? Have you gone through the villages where most nigerians reside? Where the nearest hospital might be a 2 hours drive? They have to rely on "chemist" for survival, no water, no security, etc. Go stay in a remote village in gombe or kebbi state for 9months and come call this a false narrative.

The truth doesn’t become false because we argue against it. Platforms like Worldometer simply reflect the reality on the ground. If the numbers show our life expectancy dropping to 54 years, then it’s a wake-up call,not a debate. Sadly, many Nigerians turn every serious issue into religion, ethnicity, or politics instead of confronting the facts. Progress begins the moment we accept reality and work together to change it. Denial solves nothing, but awareness can inspire a nation to rise and do better.

Many doubt the stats because they think Nigeria starts and ends in Lagos, Abuja and a few other cities. Nigeria is huge in population and you can easily fit in many African nations inside Nigeria. A huge part of this population are in the rural areas.

Even in the so-called urban or semi-urban areas, the challenges of survival is huge. Clean water, clean food, clean air, unadulterated medications, good roads, and many other basic things are not the norm for a huge number of Nigerians.
