I served in Kano....when Boko Haram in Obasanjo era when Nigeria was still safe...it still felt like death sentence back then. And I did have a couple of close call experiences that could have escalated if not for God's mercy.

If na now, I will rather not serve than risk my life. As I dey so anything outside Lagos, I no fit try am.

I remembered I wished to serve in Katsina or Sokoto even when I was in still in secondary school because one of my uncles who served in Sokoto and lived briefly in Katsina in the early 2000s was always telling us stories of how lovely and accommodating the people are
Fast forward to 2023 when it was time for me to serve, I opted to stay in Lagos where I've lived all my live, to avoid this kind of situations. I wonder if this country is still redeemable at all.

Katsina was a very good place to live before the banditry and terrorism. back then things were very cheap in Katsina especially foodstuffs, you can even eat 5 square meals a day if you want or more but now everything has changed completely.
