Umahi Not Owing Me ₦7m, My Claim Was Out Of Frustration — Obinna Ude Apologizes by Prevail123(op): 7:46am On Mar 09
Chief Obinna Ude Nkama has publicly apologized to Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, retracting earlier allegations that the minister owed him ₦7 million for a job he claimed to have executed.

The apology was contained in a press statement issued on Monday by Francis Nwaze, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Works.

Ude had earlier circulated a video on social media alleging that the minister was indebted to him, a claim that gained traction online around the same period a similar allegation was also made by a woman identified as Tracy.

However, following what the statement described as a thorough verification and review of the matter, it was established that Ude never had any contractual engagement with the minister and that Umahi was not indebted to him in any form.

Having realised the facts, Ude publicly withdrew his allegations and apologised for what he described as a misleading and malicious claim made out of frustration.
In a video released on Sunday, Ude admitted that his earlier comments were made in anger and expressed regret over the incident.
“I am Chief Obinna Ude Nkama, who made a derogatory post that has been trending over the malicious outburst I made against my leader out of anger and frustration,” he said.
He added that the minister was not owing him directly and described Umahi as “a man of high integrity and a very good man,” while pleading for forgiveness.
Ude also stressed that the apology video was made voluntarily and not under pressure from any individual or authority, adding that he was prepared to face legal consequences should he repeat such allegations in the future.
The statement urged members of the public to exercise caution when consuming and sharing information on social media, noting that not every trending allegation online is supported by credible evidence.
It further stated that Umahi remains focused on his national assignment of transforming Nigeria’s road infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

So you deliberately made statements, accusations and publications aimed at damaging the reputation of someone, then turn around to apologise after it backfired?

To what ends? Trend online?

Well, it's left for the Minister to let go, but even at that, government should make some people scapegoats.

You guys should check if there’s a gun pointed at this man in front of the camera because I don’t believe a man of this age will be making this kind of accusation

You know what I am most happy about? He did not withdraw the part where he claimed the Minister was his classmate. Who went to school with Mr President? 🤡

Unknown soldiers
Unknown gunmen
Unknown classmates
Unknown colleagues

And you are acting surprised. The joke is on you.

Nigeria is an interesting country. What if you are told this was all plannedhuh grin

The man in question is the one that should let the court do its work, not taking law into his hands because he is connected to power. I am not sure you're following the sequence of this case.

The truth is that the comments about Mr Minister from his state concerning contract payments are not really encouraging . Believe it or not, it appears that the man has no contract agreement to back up his claims. And again, 'directly'. Meaning that it may not have a direct link with the then Governor, but any of the proxies. Whichever way, there is always a day of reckoning.

Calm down…this man must’ve been settled behind the doors and made to apologise publicly to make Umahi look innocent.

The man has been trying to contact some of the people he has issues with in the past over bullying and harassment.

He must’ve settled this man behind closed doors.

If the minister wasn’t owing this man money and the man accuses him online and publicly…..sorry would be his name. Nyesom Wike’s anger and aggression is child’s play to Umahi’s.

Be wary of that short devil.
