1.The governor of Zamfara, Kano and other first term governors have seen that it will be very difficult to keep their seats in a reelection of they should remain in their old Party because a powerful party like the APC would be very very difficult to beat
2. It is always better to remain in the party that is powerful because they will be strategically placed as presidential candidate by 2031 as power will definitely come back to the north after Tinubu's 8 years in Asso Rock. So it is wise to place themselves strategically from now
3. Why fight a winning team when you can join thwm

My brother i was thinking that same thing but it would have been a serious concern if it is a contest among two powerful heavy weights like Buhari vs Tinubu. I hope you are not thinking that these politicians especially northerners are decamping to the APC to work underground for someone like Obi. Almost all the Governors are bigger than him. In fact, ordinary Kaduna Governor has a better credentials as a political activist than trader Obi.
Now that leaves Atiku in the ring but Atiku doesn't have the resources, the blueprint and the discipline/charisma to convince sitting Governors to decamp to APC and then decamp back to ADC before election or stay in APC then work for ADC. No, if you are a Governor would you support a party that doesn't have a manifesto, presidential candidate or party structure few months to a general election? A party that only criticize the Government for criticism sake but offer no credible alternatives? A party that says fuel subsidy removal isn't good but when you ask them if they will continue to pay for subsidy if they win, they say no.
These people are decamping for positioning. They want support during the upcoming election. They want federal alliance during Asiwaju's second term. They also want to be in a position to be very close to the anointed northern presidential candidate who will take over in 2031.
Obi's career is over. Someone was calling for Trump to help install Obi but with the experience Trump is going through in Iraq at the moment I'm not sure he's prepared to add another 200 years of civil war in Nigeria to his headache.

Tinubu has made sure that those states that gave him 25% are now under apc towards 2027 , I don't see him getting less than 25% in all those same 30 states again , tinubu is not going to rig he has mathematically created an outcome that will favor him next year based on party structure , reason apc is not joking with its membership register.
