India is the most populous country in the world more than 6 times that of Nigeria yet we have more poorer people, thank PBAT

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.

On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.

But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.

It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

In 2011, about 61% of Nigerians were living in absolute poverty, up from 54% in 2004.

Doesn't make APC better, they were voted to sort that out, but Nigeria was not prosperous under PDP. The palaver of being an oil dependent country, uneven sharing of wealth.....which is why our leaders, regardless of party, should focus on manufactured goods and services for national prosperity.

The 3 dollar a day benchmark is about N109,000 for a 25day month at N1,450 to a dollar, higher than the current minimum wage and to my outrage is within the taxable range by this government.

Constant Electricity in India is what is helping them to increase the number of middle class.

This is the electricity you say that tools the youth of that country to create value and grow wealth. Power to get out of poverty.

Lagos where most of you are evacuates about 1,200 megawatts from the grid. Imagine what a doubling of the energy supply to Lagos will cause in terms of availability, stability and price if only one of such plants can be established.

These are the kind of discussions citizens should be having. Solution based discourse on how to make life better. So that when government says it wants to spend a billion on some nonsensical white elephant, the people say, No.

Rather spend it on what benefits all and has the potential to create real wealth and unshackle many from poverty.

why will he remove subsidy and decide to give the money to looting governors? Abi the governors went to the treasury to take it? He has used the subsidy you use to enjoy and bought over all the governors to his party to win election by grabbing, leaving our conditions worse as citizens

That governors are not doing well does not mean we should leave the president to mess up.

You guys were blasting presidency when PDP was in charge, which was the right thing to do, therefore we got to keep on blasting APC presidentcy too.
